  • Today ended up being a spend day.
£20 on 30g tobacco and some food and milk

That was the only spends for today.

DS2 and DD have just gone to bed. I'm cooking my tea. (Everyone else has eaten.) Which reminds me our oven is electric. Im going to start trying to be more efficient with my cooker for example bake a cake while cooking tea instead of putting the oven on twice. I'm also going to try and use my slow cooker more . Especially for the day's I'm working. That way DP can serve tea and then just leave mine in there on warm until I return home. Which will also ensure im eating properly.

About to watch a film with the eldest

Oh we have brought some board games off santa for Xmas. To add to our collection so lots of games to play throughout next year on very wet days. The only thing we don't have is a pack of cards but I'll go to pound shop for those.

Also going. To use my line when possible instead of the tumble dryer.

Oh another idea for ones with kids. When crayons are past usable melt them down to make new ones. I've done this in the past and they are still going a few years later. They would of otherwise been thrown away but instead my kids have new multi colour crayons in there box (well they aren't new now but you know what I mean) .

We decorated some of the salt dough decs last night . I managed to lend some paint off the boys nan. And we have PVA already in the house to glaze them. So they really were a no spend activity for us and they have so far kept the kids busy for about 5 hours in total with still loads more to paint and glaze.

Oh I'm suppose to be giving blood boxing day :)

    Have a good evening everyone

  • £35 spent at homebase. On a mop , long handle dustpan and broom decorators chalk and silicon and a silicon gun and scrubby things.

Aldi spent £85 included Xmas dinner some essentials and snacks for Xmas day and boxing day. Will have to pop back again before Xmas though I think

Off to watch a film .

Oh and £2.50 spent on hospital parking as I was cutting it fine due to traffic and unfortunately having to ask an ambulance to move as they had blocked me into our cul-de-sac. :o

You are doing so well, especially considering you have kids. Husband and I are just on the verge of exchanging on a house. It has been a long hard slog, but it is so worth it. You will feel amazing when you finally get a place :)

  • Thank you.

To be completely honest I'll probably cry the day we get the keys.
Falling pregnant with my eldest at 15 giving birth at 16. So many including family told me to have an abortion. Told me I'd never make anything of my life. I'd never achieve anything. And that if I got rid of him I'd be able to travel and go to uni and achieve my dreams. But I refused I actually moved in with my then in law's at 15 because I had a choice my mother told me have an abortion or leave. So I packed my clothes and left.
I've brought my son (and other children up well.) I was a child having a child but I have only ever had praise and good things said about them. The school headteacher said to me (a number of times) you might be the youngest mother at this school but your son is the politest and kindest child. I couldn't imagine life without him. But what I went through makes me all the more determined to achieve everything I always planned. Once we have the house we will be travelling with the kids. Not only does that mean we will still travel but it means they will get to experience it with us. When they are young adults I plan to go back packing with them.

I also still plan to do my nurse or medicine training in the future.

We may be doing things !!! backwards. But who says there's a right way ?

Your situation sounds very similar to my little sisters. I actually cried when I found out she was pregnant as she was so young and I was worried about how it would impact her life. She has 4 now and I have to admit it's probably the best thing she did as she has really sorted herself out. It certainly makes things harder but it is the making of some people, and it's a massive achievement against harder odds.
