Paying off debt to freedom

  • haha Jon Ronson wrote a really fascinating book called The Psychopath Test. Worth having a read. The SAS gut Andy McNab is a proven psychopath and they are good for high pressure situations because they don't think about consequences they just see what needs to be done really clearly and will cut to the chase - more difficult to have meaningful relationships as picking up on visual signs/empathy can be difficult - all stuff which can be learned.

My ex-husband is a psychopath (and narcissist if I am honest) and once I understood that his actions made soooo much sense lol

OK, so I was intrigued and did the test.... 64%

I honestly thought I would rate higher! :)

Got paid today. I usually work out my total debt balances at payday, probably not a great idea as it means I have like an extra 2k in my bank account which probably makes me look slightly better off. Either way, it's the way I ended up doing it as I worked out my initial debts this way... Once I get to a stage where I only have my bank account left (no other debts) I can work down on the extra if that makes sense.

Today we sit at across all accounts: there is a £750 cost on my AMEX which I am not counting as work will cover that as an expense once I relocate.

    Debt: £29280.53

It's coming down at least!! I am learning YNAB really works!! Absolutely no way I could have figured this out with out my YNAB.

  • I have just joined gym etc and started going once or twice a week with a friend I feel massive training there.

You should move up north your pt skills you would make a fortune I have never seen so many bad trainers or clients with bad form in my life. One guy yesterday was doing bicep curls one arms while talking on his phone with the other arm he swapped arm mid set. I was trying not to laugh and shake my head but it was hard.

Yeah I think my passion is fitness. I used to PT out at a gym in London which was £145 a month membership, I did upto 4 days a week... Huge bonus was I got free membership. It made a very nice side earning, but there's definitely more money in what I do now. My take home here is around £47,000 (post recent payrise), or after tax around £2700, with the level above me being around 60k to 80k and the level above that 85k to 105k. If you're good you get promoted every 3 years and I have been in my current role for 2 years, so hopefully will get bumped up in around a year.

Do I prefer what I do now - hell no, but I can see how in 5 to 10 years time in this job I will be quite well off, as say I get 4 bumps up during the next 10 years, I would be over 150k UK take home... The money keeps me here, it's an evil pull for the riches... lol. When I have money in years to come I will just go spas and stuff to keep myself happy or maybe indeed I will set myself up and find a calling elsewhere in some kinda fitness market.

There is money in consulting, we can charge as large as £500 an hour to some clients for our work, and they pay... kinda mad.

ps nats you're a saint according to that quiz :)

Yeah my test was along these lines,
    1. I never make plans I just call people last min when I have time, as I am so busy. So always spontaneous.

    2. I literally would and have cheated when I know I can get away with it, just use my work phone for the other girl and have it syncing to nothing else. I usually cheat when I wanna break up with someone anyway, and they've been really annoying during the relationship, so I do it as a final way of getting my own back. It feels good in that situation, like it feels good to be bad kinda thing.

    3. I always make excuses on long standing plans, I hate people who organise 2 months in advance, my lifes likely gonna change by then. & i will bail last min if a friend I prefer asks to hang out (some guys come before anyone, period, I have my loyalties). My lifes too busy to organise in advance like crazy. I always ignore people on the day it comes to the plan, it's like you organised this 2 months back, now it's the day and you expect me to remember. nah.

    4. How can you answer you care about animal pain if you eat meat?! Like I care to an extent but I eat meat and don't really care at all about the pain that causes, so felt like a hypocrite answering that anything other than I do not care.

    5. I often drive my mates fast car, I love the thrill. Done sky diving a few times, it's a good thrill.

    6. I think other people suck, and often they walk all over me, so I literally look out for myself now, hence I will step on others, unless they are someone I care for e.g. good friends etc. I have extreme loyalty to people close to me.

    7. I have crazy persuasion, I act really nice to the extent people do what I want and I think lol sucker.

    8. I do usually have a cool head

    9. If someone gets conned - they usually are gullible... e.g. when someone asks u to send them money via western union and some sucker does it. Come on.

    10. I consciously know I pass the blame to others, it's a skill I learnt as a kid

When you do all of that you get 94%. So somehow my percentage has now gone up.
I do not necessarily think that defines me as a crazy evil person lol. Just a bit of a d*ck who knows people will tolerate my behaviour as I have a pretty face and some charm at times.

I struggle to see how you get so low mind, I feel like my answers were fair and logical. I actually expected like maybe 60% not almost 100.

So I did another personality test, and I did one which is apparently the most accurate online lol.
I wanted it to say I was a great lovely kind hearted person, but that didn't happen of course lol... It just summed me up too well.

I got ENTREPRENEUR PERSONALITY (ESTP, -A/-T) Here is my personality result:

    https://www.16personalities.com/estp-personality
"Entrepreneurs have a unique skill in noticing small changes. Whether a shift in facial expression, a new clothing style, or a broken habit, people with this personality type pick up on hidden thoughts and motives where most types would be lucky to pick up anything specific at all. Entrepreneurs use these observations immediately, calling out the change and asking questions, often with little regard for sensitivity. Entrepreneurs should remember that not everyone wants their secrets and decisions broadcast."

OH MY LORD, this sums me up so well... I so often think when I see others, are they not noticing that sly smile or that look he's giving? it's like I notice things other people are just entirely oblivious too... It has been to an extent of I have fallen out with people over it, as when it's done to me I just blurt it out and expose them lol. I literally pick up on the smallest thing. I notice like everything, I judge people right every-time.

It also says this "They live in the moment and dive into the action – they are the eye of the storm. People with the Entrepreneur personality type enjoy drama" loool sums up my dramatic life.

This is the test overall: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test Keen to know your results!

Stop with these tests.... I feel strangely compelled to complete them!

    I got.....ARCHITECT PERSONALITY (INTJ, -A/-T)
    Individual traits: Introverted – 51%, Intuitive – 60%, Thinking – 88%, Judging – 82%, Assertive – 74%
    Role: Analyst
    Strategy: Confident Individualism

It’s lonely at the top, and being one of the rarest and most strategically capable personality types, Architects know this all too well. Architects form just two percent of the population, and women of this personality type are especially rare, forming just 0.8% of the population – it is often a challenge for them to find like-minded individuals who are able to keep up with their relentless intellectualism and chess-like maneuvering. People with the Architect personality type are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but they do not squander their energy. Sooo true - my mind seems capable of running through umpteen scenarios, potential outcomes (short and long term) and the relevant consequences in the time some people are still trying to work out the situation / question.
With a natural thirst for knowledge that shows itself early in life, Architects are often given the title of “bookworm” as children. Still am now - can't beat a good book. Will read for hours and not even realise I am turning the pages. I will research a topic online until I have grasped every inch of it (I think the only exception to this is deep space and black holes where I just cannot grasp the finer physics - trying to understand is shelved for now, but I will go back to it in the future as NOT UNDERSTANDING drives me round the bend.)
A paradox to most observers, Architects are able to live by glaring contradictions that nonetheless make perfect sense – at least from a purely rational perspective. Oh yes!!

    Notable 'architects' include Elon Musk!!!

Just off to read the whole architect profile (you know me.. like to understand everything!!)
