  • Omg, and I thought waiting for half an hour at my doctor's was bad! I hope you feel better soon and get seen quickly.

    Eek!
So that's ice-cream, popsicles and cold drinks for you for a couple of days then!
My tonsillitis top tip..... buy dissolvable paracetamol and gargle with it - gets the pain relief right into where it is needed quicker!!

I’m so fed up got the rudest doctor. She was just like “you’re young, fit and healthy. Antibiotics are not a miracle. You can heal yourself with a bit of self care.” Meanwhile I literally can’t breathe... !!!!!!

To be fair - unless diagnosed as 'acute' GP's wont hand out antibiotics for tonsillitis. Antibiotics won't work against a viral infection which is the most common cause of tonsillitis. Plenty of fluids, rest and pain-relief (don't forget you can alternate something like ibuprofen with the paracetamol to keep the pain down) and you should be better in a couple of days! The ibuprofen will help reduce the localised swelling caused by the infection and should help ease your breathing, you can also gargle warm salt water! bleugh lol
You will feel pretty yuck for a couple of days though! :(

Meh I already have asthma so not being able to breathe with this doesn't really help. Just looked in a mirror they are literally covered in white swollen spots. Literally breathing causes me pain lol. I tried to take some paracetamol earlier and literally choked to death as I couldn't swallow it down, it felt like a knife going through my tonsils lol. Ended up spitting it out and crushing it up which is why I went the GP.

She was just all "you need to build up an immunity" - come on, I don't get ill often my immune system is fine, if I do get ill it's like once a year and it's always horrendous. She was like "you don't have a temperature" meanwhile I had sweated through my whole shirt down the back, which I don't even do after running on a treadmill at 13km/h for 40 mins. I came home had to change the top, despite me saying this she was like "nope no temperature." It's like logic doesn't make sense to this GP. She was then like "any illegal substances that might make you sweat?" I literally felt like punching her, slammed the door and walked out.

In all fairness last time this surgery sent me away with nothing, I ended up going an urgent care hospital and then was admitted to hospital emergency care and put on a drip. When I finally get over the raging anger I feel inside right now, I will go the urgent care hospital.

    Thanks for asking,

Went to another doctor, urgent care centre, given antibiotics right away and told to go hospital if I have difficulty breathing. I've gotta go back once better as my heart rate was weird again... I hope the original doctor goes straight to hell, why on earth would anyone wait 3 hours in that surgery unless they were on deaths door!?! This might sound silly, but it felt like the original GP had something against young healthy people lol, like she saw me come in and immediately I knew I wasn't getting anything. She was like "you look healthy what's wrong?" I just thought, do you mean I'm not obese with diabetes lol. Then she was like "you are young, fit and healthy" when I was telling her I was about to die of lack of oxygen as the tonsils were blocking my airways lol... Then when I said I was sweating she basically hinted are you taking steroids, as if to suggest I cannot get in shape without using some sort of illegal drug, which I do not do btw. She was fat, bitter and miserable, looked pale and unhealthy like a ghost herself and didn't seem to want to help anyone she was jealous of. God she was such a cow lol, totally creeps me out thinking of her looking me up and down and commenting I look "fit" and healthy... I wish I had been like "yes unlike you." :D When I walked in her office and saw 2 cans of diet coke on the desk I literally thought here we go...

Anyway, just done a call for work and I sounded like a 70 year old man haha.

Ok went to sainsburys and got pharmacy stength nurofen also- top tip to everyone, nurofen have a stronger strength behind the pharmacy - the packet says "pharmacy only" and you gotta ask for it ... It is way better.

Also got myself some Oreo Ice Cream, a big tup which is 1100 calories in the tub, so I'm gonna eat this and got some ben & jerrys if I can stomach it. Do not wanna waste away into some little weed, can't lose a tonne of weight. I am on my target weight now, if I lost like 7lbs which could happen if I don't eat with this, I will be so sad. Also got some donuts because I hella love donuts, but likely can't eat them lol - might have to chop em into small pieces. I have a thing for the cheap 70p ones in the store where you get like 5 jam filled ones... Haven't had them in a while. :)
