  • Indeed - exactly this. I've only ever bought a couple of brand new cars and brand new bikes, and my current bike cost considerably more than any of the others.


    A farmer friend (and TT fanatic) of mine bought a new MV Agusta (c. £20k?) and constructed a steel cage bolted into the floor of a barn to keep it in.


    He would not have left it parked on street - so hopefully the 'bike the OP knocked over is a bit (a lot!) cheaper to repair!

    Even relatively common mass-market stuff is worth that sort of money now though, isn't it?

    My BMW had a list of almost £19.5K including options when I bought it, and I didn't even tick many boxes...
