They can all be replaced. A human life cannot.

Its the individual that cannot be replaced, humans are being replaced by many more humans at an alarming rate.

Irrelevant. Pedestrians and cyclists aren't insured and it doesn't prevent them making a claim. Hitting an uninsured vehicle doesn't prevent a claim being made successfully.

If he wasn't insured,he shouldn't be parking on the road in the first place.

Still, totally irrelevant and wouldn't make a jot of a difference for him to claim against the OP's insurer.

Then he should stop worrying - that's what he pays his insurance premium for.

Instead of worrying he should think constructively about what went wrong and how he could avoid a recurrence.

Next time, avoid get near to motorbike.
If the parking space is next to motorbike, I will give up the parking space.
I will never ever park next to motorbike.
They are simply too expensive and fragile.
This lesson cost me £1068, nearly my 1 month salary

I contacted my insurer to log a case, they recommend to let them deal with it.
So, I will go for insurance claim route. I had been so stressful for last few days.
This take away my stress, take me out of this accident, though I will suffer for next years during the car insurance renewal (which is December).
This incident killed my 2 years 10 months of NCB (because my car insurance is up to renewal December)
I had been driving for 15 years, never involve in any accident at all.
This small misjudgement, though didn't cause big damage (no one injured, just scratches on the motorbike), costed me £1068, killed my driving confidence. I am extremely caution whenever I see a parked motorbike.
Thank you all for giving me precious advices. I appreciate very much.

Again, you keep repeating this but if it goes via your insurer then it wont be costing you this, as has already been explained to you.

Yes, why it can cost so much for the repair? this is even more expensive than car damage i think..
I was parking my car, just move forward to adjust the car, so the car speed is <5mph.. somehow knocked his motorbike a little, and the motorbike is not stable and fall down....

Because a motorcycle's bodywork is made of made of plastics - and expensive ones at that. These are usually replaced rather than repaired. £1K is not excessive at all.

Why would you assume that motorcycle repairs are cheap?

Why does it matter how the deed was done?

I think if the OP reversed into the bike because it was difficult to see it might be somewhat excusable. However, as made abundantly clear in the OP (and the very helpful diagrams he or she has provided) the OP actually drove forward into a 'bike that was clearly visible in front of them!

I, personally, coming from the Isle of Man where 'bikes are the object of veneration, would not try to park anywhere near a motorbike. Knock over and superficially damage an expensive 'bike and you could be talking ££££££££! The bike might be worth a lot more than the OP's car!

I think a lot of people are stuck in the era when motorbikes were what poor people rode to the factory before they could afford a proper car. Motorcycle = cheap. It comes as a shock for them to realise that modern bike repairs are very expensive indeed if cosmetic bits are involved. Certainly more than many cars.

Indeed - exactly this. I've only ever bought a couple of brand new cars and brand new bikes, and my current bike cost considerably more than any of the others.
