Parkwatch - PCN

Hi Guys, just got a quick query, I have read everything in the sticky in regards to writing a letter for appeal.

I was driving my Mother in laws car and she has got the PCN at her address, I am in the process of draughting a letter for her to send in order to appeal.

It was for Not Parking Wholly Within Bay, they have sent a picture and i can see the car is over the line but the tyres are behind the line.

We were shopping in ToysRus but didn't purchase anything

DO i Email Parkwise or do I have to write a letter?

The keeper appeals as the PCN tells you to (not by post). So email or online, whatever they offer.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

...taking great care not to identify the driver when appealing.

How pathetic and childish, Parkwatch must be hard up for
    business ??
It's companies like Parkwatch that gets the industry known
    as COWBOYS and SCAMMERS

Of course, you can go through the system and appeal to which
they will reject. These companies are only interested in your
    money

If this was me, I would tell them how stupid they are as 4
wheels were clearly shown in the picture inside the lines
and you will rely on a judge to make a decision

Tell them, you are aware that they use powerless debt
collectors which will be deemed as harassment.
Tell them that you will defend any claim in court and
that you will claim costs against them

You need to check the signs, do they say anything like
"if your wheels are within the lines, you will still be
charged if anything from the car body over hangs"

STUPID company and you need to tell them

I have checked and PARKWATCH are not on the BPA website even though they have got the BPA sign on their letter, is this them committing fraud or am I missing something?

I have sent them an email at their contact us page on their website but may follow it up with a letter and then leave it on their hands as that way i have tried to communicate with them twice and go from there as i believe i was not in the wrong

Parkwatch are certainly not hard up, according to Companies House they have sufficient assets to buy a nearly new Vauxhall Astra.

    Now What?

granted it'll take a day or two to get to them but just wanted to know my next steps apart from waiting

Do i just wait and see if they reply and then go from there?

if they don't reply within 28 days then is it over and done with? Or do i have to give them longer

if they do reply i need to make sure i get a POPLAR number from them don't i ?

  • They should either accept your challenge and cancel the PCN (unlikely)

Or reject your challenge and issue a POPLA code. If/when you get this, be aware that you have a limited time to get your POPLA appeal in. The newbies thread explains it all.

BUT be aware they may try to con you into paying £10 to cancel the PCN (that’s what they’ve done with somebody I’m helping). So a breach of the BPA code of practice.

Insist on a POPLA code and complain to the BPA and DVLA if they try this con.

Emails are in the newbie sticky.

What happens if we dont hear from them again?

is there a time limit they have to get back to us by?

If they don’t reply, you’ll probably start getting debt collector letters - then it’s complain time to the BPA.

Time limit - 35 days. Did you not read this in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky? It’s a fundamental, which you need to be familiar with.

But you’re jumping too far ahead. Wait to see outcome of your initial appeal.
