Payday Thursday so this is my last week... should be on budget but I've been in an odd mood lately so it's too soon to tell...
Nothing meal planned for next week and truth be told I can't be bothered right now. Fruit needs eating and I might just grab something from the freezer as and when.
Okay - so today was an unmitigated failure.
I got stuck out of the office all day, meaning my breakfast and lunch are sat in the fridge until tomorrow.
I spent £5 buying a baguette, then another £1 on a bag of tomatoes/peppers on the way home through town.
Total spend so far in November = £63 food + £93 'social' = £156/150That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
House Bought July 2020 - 19 years 0 months remaining on term
Next Step: Bathroom renovation booked for January 2021
Goal: Keep the bigger picture in mind...0 -
Thanks Pipney. I was confused about tomatoes, thanks for clearing that up. It's not the gut, I think I might have a slight case of rosacea, not really sure, gonna try and get an appointment with my Dr. but trying a few options in the meantime.
It can become obsessive, but I love it.
I am going to declare at £46.21/£80, £33.79 under, which will go in2 the bulk buy fund. If I do buy anything, I will take it out of there. See you in December.
Good luck with doctor, Savedosh. It could be anything.
Agreed, re Grocery Challenging. The grocery challenges are one of the few places you can go, grumble about your spending levels - or rave that you’ve come in under budget - and not have people look at you like you have two heads."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'
It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

Gonna make some onion & garlic soup, trying anti-inflammatory food. Not too sure if tomatoes are, too much conflicting information out there - does anyone know ?? I may venture to get some turmeric tomorrow and maybe some broccoli to try some soup recipes (anti inflammatory)
Harvard seem to think tomatoes are anti-inflammatory...

Tesco order last night came to £41.47. That included £20 on a couple of cases of corona which might last until Christmas, depending on how many visitors we have before then (already had a extra mouths to feed on two occasions this week!), a box of heroes to put away and some nice tonic.

Off work 'till Monday. Need to clean this health hazard I call home, I find it hard to think in 'mess'. It won't take long, but it IS bad, tomorrow Xmas shopping, get that charade out of the way - wow such a jolly elf am I. Have a lovely w/e everyone.0 -
Declaring now for November and ended up slightly over budget by £2.60, so not disastrous. Looking back over my receipts book I can pinpoint the overspend to last week on a local top-up shop by DH but at least everything he got either has been or will be used up, so no waste.
Well done those who managed to keep in or below budget :j and commiserations to those who didn't quite get there.
Have a good weekend all and will "see" you in December.Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
Okay so both OH and I went over our personal budgets a little, however I'm calling this month a win as we came within our over all budget...just.
Bulk - £28.45/£30.
OH - £50.12/£50. - £0.12.
Me - £31.42/£30. - £1.42
So I can declare the following;
Total budget
£109.99/£110.
£0.01 left.
Well done all that came in budget, however close. Those that didn't remember it would likely be worse if you weren't on this thread.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
