Hello - can I please join for £150?
  • I'm in for£100 again this month please. I've already spent a fiver on '[/COLOR]essentials' - a box of half price m&s choccie biccies at £3 which are for Xmas and 2 packets of sour jelly dinosaurs which are suitable for vegans for £2. Contrary to what it sounds like I don't actually have a massively sweet tooth but as s veggie I usually can't eat sweets like that as they contain gelatin so I was excited by getting something new! I gave one packet to a veggie friend and she was similarly happy.

    £5/£100
  • Could I please set myself a budget of £160from today till the 16th Nov! I'm not sure how much I'm spending at the moment so need to set a realistic budget then reduce from there. Feeding 2 adults and 3 children, to include all food and drinks, cleaning products, nappies etc!

  • £22.41 spent today on stuff needed to see us through the weekend as we have visitors. I did forget to pick up pitta breads though so I'll probably have to pop back for those tomorrow. I'll remind myself there's no need to buy anything else while I'm there!

2nd Shop: scrapping bottom of purse shop before payday (total so far: £15.84)

    Pastry £2
    Cheese £2
    Frozen Chips £1
    Scotch Pancakes 69p
    = £5.69

    Total £21.53
  • Small spend yesterday of £8.60 on lunches for 3 days and some crisps.

I have a Gousto box coming on Saturday, it would normally be £35, but I am getting it for 50% off and as someone I recommended has used them, I'm getting a further £15 off so it's only costing me £2.50. Now I don't know whether to record it as a £35 spend, £15 spend or just a £2.50 spend

A 4-week month for the two of us so I'd like to be in for £160 please, groceries only. Hoping for a good month as there's plenty of stuff in the store cupboards and the freezer is still pretty full, although it's starting to go down a little. :D

  • OH was happy as he picked up a joint of beef for £3.30 that was originally marked up at £13.16! He also picked up curly fries for only 24p for a bag .

Today is a cooking day. The multi cooker today has made porridge so far, there is a 'fauxmlette' in there at the moment, will be cooking quinoa and amaranth after that has finished and after that will be a vegetable chilli.

    Bulk - £28.45/£30
    OH - £5.46/£50 £44.54 left
    Me - £5.67/£30. £24.33 left.

    Total budget
    £39.58/£110
    £70.42 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

This leads me on to a question... The chorizo is best before/use by (forget which) 2nd Nov. can I freeze it in chunks to use in the future? Think it might need to be a staple now - I only used about 25p worth!PG x

Yes, you can. I too find that even though it usually has a long date I've always got some left over, so into the freezer it goes. :D

Can I ask those that draw out the cash rather than pay on card, do you find it works?

I used to use my card all the time but have changed over to cash; it works better for me 'cos I can see what I have in my purse, so can't over-spend! :) In the last 6 months I've only gone over budget once - by £3.13 - and the surplus from the other 5 months has gone into our holiday savings account.

Forgot to say before, thanks to those running the thread :A and welcome to newbies / returners.

  • £400 this month please!

Thanksgiving meal included and as much Christmas family meal prepping as I can fit in to help keep December relaxed and focused on family time. :xmassmile

2 adults, 2 children, 2 dogs and a cat. All food, drink, toiletries and cleaning supplies. :)
