Try slowly moving the screen to see if it gets worse, it could be a loose connection which only shows when the screen is in certain positions, that would definitely be a fault.0 -

Your legal rights under the Consumer rights act allow you to return faulty goods up to 30 days from the date of purchase.
Just to clarify this part what shaun says, your legal rights are to return for a refund for up to 30 days. After 30 days you still have the right to return but you can't insist on a refund and may have to accept a repair or replacement instead. And have you been into the Nvidia settings to optimise it?
Also worth going directly to Nvidia to download the latest drivers and any patches for your card.
ETA: are you also keeping the laptop adequately cooled?
I’m old school with these and would never recommend a laptop for gaming, they are too limited from an upgrade point of view and there is no way to ever keep them as cool as you can a desktop, and cooling is so important when it comes to any intensive work on a computer.
I used to be of the same opinion but bought a gaming laptop 4 years ago, all the specs of a £1800+ alienware but with just a £600-650 price tag. 17.3" screen though which also means a bigger chassis/components are less cramped. Even on periods of extended/stressful use, I've never had issues with cooling. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I understand now, if I was to take my laptop into currys would I get just a replacement? I dont really wanna go through the hassle of sending it off for repair, I would just like a new one on the spot, I also have video proof of the fault if that would help them.0

You can request a repair or replacement but the retailer can refuse if its disproportionately costly in comparison to the other of those 2.
The 30 day thing only entitles you to insist on a refund rather than repair/replacement. It doesn't entitle you to insist on a replacement rather than a repair unfortunately.
However some retailers are aware of this and will therefore allow you to get a replacement if its within the first 30 days rather than risk you getting a refund and buying elsewhere (although currys used to be bad for trying to get away with offering store credit rather than by the same method the consumer paid).
Really, you need to take it back to currys and see what they say. Its always a good thing to know your rights but sometimes you can spend hours researching them in preparation of arguing with a retailer only for them to accept the issue & give you a refund/exchange without any hassle. You keep using that word. just a quick question to ask here, if I went in store and showed them video proof of the fault on my laptop and asked for exchange would they accept that? also would they allow you to exchange to a different computer if you wanted to. for example would I be able to choose a desktop or different laptop which is priced at £799 which was what I paid for this one.0

I told you in #6 Currys will want to repair it.0 -
What Currys want and what Currys are legally entitled to insist on are two different things.Warwick_Hunt wrote: »I told you in #6 Currys will want to repair it.
If they accept that the laptop is faulty then the OP has the legal right to insist on a full refund and once Currys are made aware of the fact that the OP knows what they are entitled to in law, they will probably get their refund.0 -

And I told you in posts 7 and 9 that is not the case, either they accept it is faulty and OP demands their rights under the Consumer Rights Act or they don't accept that it's faulty and send OP packing to prove it themselves.0
