Thanks Redofromstart :o and thank you again so much for your extremely thorough and helpful post before. I consulted it while prepping/ writing notes and it helped, so I'm very grateful and appreciative.

    To do:
    [STRIKE]1. Long walk [/STRIKE]
    16,489
    [STRIKE]2. Laundry [/STRIKE]
    Washed, dried AND folded
    [STRIKE]3. Hoover
    [/STRIKE]4. Re-organise chest of drawers
    [STRIKE]5. Post Fathers day card
    6. Sort through bathroom shelves [/STRIKE]
    7. Phone vet for appointment
    [STRIKE]8. Change bedding
    9. Clean kitchen / organise cupboards[/STRIKE]

Tomorrow morning I will sort the chest of drawers and I'll see if I can get OH to call the vet. Have decided cinema will be tomorrow followed by a long walk.

Got some good news! Old flatmate has just moved out of our flat and texted me to say we got the full deposit back in cash which is jammy! £250 or £275 coming my way in a few days (can't remember how much the deposit actually was). I moved out two years ago but as she stayed in the flat until now I hadn't really thought about the deposit. She had mentioned it a few months ago when we met up saying she wanted to pay me my half over the course of a few months but I told her not to worry about rushing it if it would stretch her too thin. Just goes to show good things come to those who wait :rotfl: Now if only this could apply to the hotel refund which I've been waiting on since March?! :o

The deposit money is going straight to the Santander card and that (coupled with the payment I'll make to it when I get paid) will bring the balance down to £50! Feels pretty crazy. This time last year it was up at £2750  Will see if I can find an extra fifty quid somehow.... If I can clear it this month rather than next then I would feel really, really chuffed. I should get paid either tomorrow or Monday so we shall see how much I have to work with.

I know it does seem so soon now! I can't believe it's been a year since I first started trying to sort this all out.
Don't worry Silver Queen & Onedaysomeday - I'll definitely still be here :j I would miss you guys too :o Will potentially just turn my diary into a savings diary instead. Or maybe just a "have more than a fiver left at the end of the month" diary :rotfl:

Just checked and haven't been paid yet so must be Monday. Should have the deposit money today though! Am so excited to pay it to the card :o I think I am just going to suck it up and pay the full thing off this month. Budget will be a little tight, but isn't it always?! I think it will be worth it. As of next month my season ticket through work runs out so am going to start paying for my ticket monthly on the Santander card again for the cashback. They raised the price in January so my cashback should bring me back down to pre - price rise ticket price :rotfl:

Just had breakfast and now going to go a walk to Tesco to pick up the Jammy Dodger cake while OH is asleep  then going to the cinema at 2.15. Will buy tickets through the work discount site so should be half price (still extortionate though)! Will be treating myself to a small popcorn. Weigh in day tomorrow and am sure popcorn isn't the healthiest choice but I'm going to do it anyway!

Have a lovely Friday everyone :)

Sounds like a lovely day planned - is it Solo you are going to see or am I imagining things?

Woo-hoo lonelyrat. Isnt life truly a rollercoaster? Last week you were in despair, and now suddenly everything is coming up roses. You deserve it.:T:T
As for the other hotel money. Its true,a watched kettle never boils.:DAnd when we are sorting finances monthly and pay out on debts then a whole month with nothing happening can drive you crazy:rotfl::rotfl:
But just check the figures from a year ago and wow what a difference.Keep plodding, you are doing great.:j:j

Mine is more of a 'staying out of debt diary' these days, although that may change overnight. It keeps me on track, so worth carrying on. I'd miss your diary too.

It was Solo Onedaysomeday! I had quite high hopes and it was OK but wasn't as good as I expected. I did like Chewie and Lando though

I know Dusty! I feel a bit silly for getting so worked up now :o I think it was just the uncertainty of it all and feeling like I'd ruined something. Definitely a great result though and 6 months is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Just checked my spreadsheet and my first month was July. So this time last year I was probably in a pure state of panic wondering how we were going to make it through the month with the credit cards all maxed and about 50p in the overdrafts :rotfl: It does feel amazing to look back and see that things are temporary.

Redo - I think that's what mine will be. Something to keep me focused... Worst thing would be falling into old bad habits. I keep meaning to sit and have a read through some new diaries (yours being one of them) but life keeps getting in the way so forgive me! I will come check it out when I have some more free time :o

12,723 steps yesterday :) Now just getting ready to head into town to the dreaded scales. I don't really think there will be a loss this week but as long as I haven't gained I'll be happy!

Need to pick up some stickers for OH World Cup sticker book to slip in his bday card and some sandwich bits/ crisps. Am going to take us a packed lunch on our adventure tomorrow to keep costs down.

OH going to pick me up when I come back from town and we're going to the loch for a walk so will get my 10,000 today
