Gfk surveys and app

I got this from Panelbase today.

We have a new survey opportunity for you. We are working with one of our partners GfK who are recruiting new members to their Media Appreciation Panel. Members of the GfK Media Appreciation Panel are asked questions about TV and radio content they have watched or listened to.

If you would like to register with the GfK Media Appreciation Panel, please click on the link below. Once you have completed the registration process, which consists of a registration survey and a quick follow up survey, we will reward you with £1.00 in your panelbase.net account. Thereafter, you will receive survey invitations from the GfK Media Appreciation Panel whilst continuing to receive survey opportunities directly from panelbase.net.

When I clicked through, it said that each survey you fill out gets you an entry into a draw for prizes from £2 to £1000. I'm a bit wary of joining something that's only draws - no direct rewards, I don't really want to work for nothing.

Does anyone do this? Do people actually win anything in the draws? I'm really not sure whether to bother with it or just stick to stuff that definitely pays out :)

Been doing this for a few months now and I have only ever won £2 every month but they're really easy and takes me upto 2 minutes daily or 30 seconds most of the time!

Wish I'd win more but I do mystery shopping for GFK anyway so I just thought I might as well go for this.
  • Thanks - I will sign up then - worth it for the quid from panelbase, if nowt else ;)

I used to do this and won a few £5 here and there. But got bored in the end and cancelled.

You also get about 3-4 times a year with a weeks media survey which asks more than just what tv and radio and you get £5 for completing the week. I have won £11 already this year, Vouchers are usually instant on ordering
    Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £574
  • I joined this about 3 weeks ago. I won £2 in my first draw (despite not having done the whole month and therefore not having many tickets) and did a week of extended surveys in which I got a £10 voucher. I'm also doing another round of extended surveys for another £10 next week.

Overall this has been very worthwhile for me so far. I will have made £22 in the space of a month for very little effort. Most surveys take 20 seconds as I don't watch much TV or listen to the radio and yet you still get entered if you click 'didn't watch any TV yesterday'. Even when I have watched something it takes 2 mins. The extended surveys are longer but still sub 10 mins and well worth doing each day for £10.

Is there any way of re-joining this panel? Do they have a sign up page anyway? A few pounds for a few clicks sounds ideal. Anyone?

I am a member of this panel and I have won £2 several times. On top of that around once every 6-8 weeks I make it through to a more in depth survey lasting one week and while it says you get £5 for doing it I always seem to get a £10 voucher (which I redeem for instant Amazon vouchers).

I really like this as it takes just a few seconds per day. There are often 2 bonus tickets to be earned at the end of the days survey and as long as you earn 10 tickets per month you're in to the draw. Also, if you enter several months in a row you get in to a bonus loyalty draw.

While you aren't guaranteed an income with this it takes me around 45 seconds to fill in the surveys usually because I know the questions that they are going to ask and there is a chance of winning (as I have done at least 8 or 9 times in the past few years)

  • Hi

I'm not on the GFK Media Appreciation one but am on their 'What I Buy' panel which is similar kind of thing, the surveys are really short and every month I win either £2 or a couple of times £5 and I just convert it straight away to get an Amazon e-code so keep topping up my Amazon Gift Cert account so always have something in there towards DVDs, etc.

Plus as it's just competition wins then it's not subject to the tax that you usually pay on survey income.

I've been doing it for over 6 years now practically everyday, and I really don't know why I still do it as I rarely get anything - very surprised to hear of people getting regular rewards - goes to show how little they care about their long term regular panelists.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • On the first few months of joining, i won £2 every month as well as the 10£ surveys however the past 4 months i have got nothing, i think i am now a long term panelist so i won't get anything.
2018 wins: Scottish weekend break, london weekend break and hotel chocolat hamper
