As it's the 30th September, time to do a quick post of month end mortgage interest details.
My mortgage interest for 2008 today stands at 2,332.13
On-line, is simply shown the total amount. Each month I'm logging the month end value, so that I can get the interest for the month and then calculate per day. The 2,332.13 breaks down as follows:- January 279.86 – 9.03 per day
- February 249.23 – 8.90 per day
- March 271.85 – 8.77 per day
- April 259.23 - 8.64 per day
- May 263.84 - 8.51 per day
- June 252.53 - 8.42 per day
- July 257.78 - 8.32 per day
- August 254.75 - 8.22 per day
- September 243.06 - 8.10 per day

Hi shopgirl,
Thanks for dropping by and saying hello.
#2 has first swimming lesson - for 30 minutes, followed by #1. One of us (normally me) gets to go into the pool with #2 as this is the tiny tots water confidence class. #1's class is instructor only.

Having a bit of bother keeping on top of the current account transactions today. Put funds in place yesterday to cover direct debits / standing orders.
Having logged into the internet banking earlier today to make a mortgage overpayment, I'm so pleased that I double checked the current account balance as I suspected it looked a bit low. Had I made the overpayment without crediting it further, once everything had cleared I would have been short by 132.17 and would have gone overdrawn.
The first day or so of the month is the busiest time of the month by far for us in terms of debits: 2 x life insurance, TV license, 2 x regular savers, 2 x Natwest £50 cash back, mortgage collection, mortgage overpayment, asda credit card, council tax, plus a few money transfers can easily see us with 15 or more transactions on one day alone
Still, I spotted it and put some extra funds in place. The mortgage overpayment was 151.97 on top of a normal mortgage payment of 898.03 - total for October of 1,050.00
I'll do my usual signature update, plus update post #1 once the payments hit the mortgage account.

I recently realised I could enter meter readings monthly to Scottish Power, so I can track cost on a monthly basis. Today I’ve entered meter readings for the end of September and it’s looking as follows.
Figures are units then cost. I’ve also done a combined total so an overall comparison can be made.
Electric:- August – 265 / 30.28
- September – 273 / 30.74
- August – 9 / 14.43
- September – 21 / 17.06
- August – 274 / 44.71
- September – 294 / 47.80
On the subject of heating, we’ve got ours on timed now, and we’ve got it set to 16c on a morning and 17c at other times. It’s been on a few times, but only for 10 to 15 minutes to take the chill off the house. Trying not to burn it at too high a temperature!
What temperature you got your heating set to?

18 degrees but that may rise as I am a woossy.
Having said that, we had thermostatic valves fitted last year which are proving effective, coupled with larger radiator in lounge which was always cold. We can now 'spot heat' the room we are in.
I need to spend more time on here as 'puter is in warmest room (hot water tank in cupboard - although well lagged the cupboard is still warm. Especially if I open cupboard door). So, doodling about on here would save me money
.
Note to self:
I must switch on DD & DS's radiators before they come home for hols.
