    Bah,
That'll teach me to rush a post during last few minutes of lunch - August not September.

    Hi setmefree2,

Base rate. I'm on a fixed rate with Nationwide until March 2011 - not a bad rate @ 4.79% so the reduction won't alter things for me in the short term. Plus, as far as I know, Nationwide haven't issued a statement regarding their SVR mortgage - think it's currently at 6.49.

Should they change their SVR, I'll re-calculate my monthly payment required to attain goal, as this amount should come down slightly. I'm (currently) presuming that I'll drop onto their SVR after my fix as I should have something like 30k left by then. Not sure if it's worth getting into a 2 year lock in / fix just for 30k. Need to do sums nearer the time...

Savings accounts. Kaupthing, ahem now ING - not sure if we will stay there as they've been a bit poor in the past rate wide. Current rate looks like it's 6.55% AER, with a tiny small print note saying that it includes a first 12 months bonus of 1.66%.

  • Nationwide internet banking - just logged on and my mortgage account is currently showing a balance of "N/A" - not applicable I presume???

Wonder if they've cleared my mortgage for me...? :rotfl:

Happy birthday to me, well my diary that is...

Started on 10th October 2007 - it's a year old today. :DFeeling slightly upbeat at the moment, despite not clearing as much mortgage as I wanted to in the last 12 months.

Many, many thanks for everyone who had read, replied or simply just said "Thanks" to my posts over the last 12 months.:T

Your support and replies are an inspiration for me to keep chipping away at the mortgage, oh, and keep doing the diary too :D

    Thanks again,

    Financial Bliss.
