All in all, I'm pretty chuffed with how much I achieved last week.

Friday was a day off with the boy - we went to Brighton (slightly the worse for wear from drinks the night before, the sea breeze was perfect!), ate ice cream and played the 2p machines on the pier :D. Saturday I drove back to Devon for my gig, and Sunday was another wedding fair - no weddings confirmed but I did manage to book a 90th birthday party :rotfl:

Today's been nice if super spendy - in addition to getting the shopping done, I had to buy a few bits for my dressmaking course, I bought two vintage 60's dresses for work, my charger for my music laptop has decided not to work anymore so had to order that, and I've paid for some advertising. I've also been contacted by a jazz band asking if I want to join them! Singing in a jazz band is a dream of mine so hopefully it'll pan out.

    Tomorrow:

    - Sort out 60's set for Friday night (I have over 20 songs to learn, nothing like a challenge!)
    - Hoover and polish room
    - Sort out volunteer shifts for the month
    - Hair trial for bridal shoot

    - Confirm all details with car insurance - apparently I've been randomly selected and have to send over my life story to get it confirmed
    - Start sorting out paperwork and receipts
    - Keep working on list for this month
    - Catch up on finances and budget

Aiming for three work outs and four NSD's this week...

Time to curl up in bed with a book, methinks! Night all xx

I'm exhausted just reading your list! I love having super productive weeks, I'm happy with small steps at the moment though.

Ooh a jazz band, how exciting! I hope it all works out for you. Sounds like you had a lovely day off too and it sounds well deserved!

    - Catch up on finances and budget Nope

DFD, as you can see some weeks are less productive :rotfl: I'm really excited about the potential to sing with a jazz band, waiting to hear back about gigs, rehearsals, rates etc.

NSD and I'm counting power walking in the rain as a workout! Today has been spent having my hair played with and cramming lyrics for Friday's gig. Plan for the rest of the evening is to catch up on Star Trek with a honey, lemon and ginger tea and get an early night like the cool rocker I am haha.

    Tomorrow:

    - digital marketing mentoring (my Skype is playing up so it might be interesting)
    - dressmaking class: first one, I'm so excited!
    - keep ploughing through songs
    - try and get a workout in
    - make Mum's birthday cake

As desperate as I am to add to that list, any free time over the next couple of days needs to spent on music work. I find it really difficult to rein in my list ambitions!

    Night all xx

    Morning all!

I had a really great week last week - the digital marketing 1-2-1 was fantastic! I learned so much about how SEO works and I've got a LOT of work to do on the website over the next few months. Rhe first dressmaking class was a lot of fun and I learned a lot, although in 2.5 hours all I did was cut out the pattern and fabric - not a stitch was sewn :rotfl:

Thursday was The Mothership's birthday so we went to my grandma's for tea and cake (carrot cake at mum's request, went down a treat). Friday was modelling day - I felt like a queen in the gowns - followed by a gig, which went so well they've booked me in for an extra date next month at the organiser's request :j Saturday I had a last-minute wedding fair with one confirmed booking already, and another gig. Yesterday I did not very much at all due to sleep deprivation ha! My music laptop has decided to die so I'll need to sort all my sets out on the main laptop for now as I can't afford to replace it right now!

The finances are looking very low atm - I keep making unexpected spends on the business (like the last minute wedding fair, new advertising opportunities), but at least they're the 'right' kind of spending, and I've already made the money back; I just won't have that money for a while...

No gigs, meetings or networking til Wednesday so here's the list for the next couple of days:

    Business

    - Invoices for the week
    - Go over springtime show
    - Banking
    - Thank nursing home for lovely review Done
    - Email regular nursing homes for dates
    - Work on website
    - Send over PLI and PAT certs for the wedding fair last Saturday
    - Pay for last Saturday's wedding fair
    - Send feedback form re: the marketing lesson
    - Edit videos I made last week
    - Catch up on networking
    - Take in cards and flyers to a hotel that's requested them
    - Social media scheduling

    Life

    - List everything left to sell/give away
    - Pick up last few bits at my grandma's
    - Send off V5C form to change address on car
    - Book in car service
    - Any surveys that crp up
    - Research London trip at the end of the month
    - Shopping

Right, best get cracking! Have a great day xx

    - Research London trip at the end of the month
    - Shopping Done

    Spends today:
    £30 fuel
    £24 wedding fair
    £15.51 groceries
    £2.79 dressmaking scissors (a Mr L special)
    58p stamp

Wow, I think that's the least I've ever spent on grocery shopping!! Strictly no frills, just the essentials and I didn't need to stock up on anything. I'm pretty confident this will last me the week so we shall see!

Two couples have booked me from the wedding fair on Saturday, and both have paid their deposits today :j two new venues for me as well which is brilliant. Both are this year so that's a nice sum added to to the 2019 pot.

I've done a few small bits and bobs to the website (and joined Go0gle My Business) but it's going to be a long and arduous process over the next several weeks and months to get it perfect. I've also got to start writing a blog on it... any ideas on subjects for a singer that does all sorts of events but specialises in vintage music? I have dozens of ideas already but I'll need to add to the list forever haha!

Plan for the rest of the evening is to grab a shower, work in my pj's for a bit and get an early night so I can catch up on Star Trek.

Live long and prosper, everyone... Night! xx

    Morning!

NSD couple of days :j Yesterday was a gig sandwich - either side of the show was some heavy networking, all of which I think was very productive (also got an additional booking for May). I'm waiting on some surveys to be approved and then I can cash out £10ish, and £50 of confirmed cashback to become available.

Today I've got a meeting about a potential new project, and then I'm off to a casting for a TV show that's filming down here - only supporting artist (the fancy term for 'extra') work, but it might be fun if I'm cast and the money would be very handy! Then seeing my grandma and hopefully tinkering with the website later.

    Hope everyone's doing well xx

    Morning :hello:
Very busy work weekend - the meeting on Thursday went well, next stage is to get the sums done and try and find out if we can get local funding. I really hope it goes ahead! In a nutshell, we're trying to launch a small intergenerational project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Man landing on the moon. We've got another meeting on Thursday so lots of research to do before then. All fingers and toes crossed!

Friday I saw my friend and godson, then a holiday park gig which was a lot of fun! Saturday was spent watching the rugby (Eng V Sco was the craziest match I've seen in my life!) and another 60's gig. The organisers of that particular party have asked for me personally for Easter weekend when they're back; I'm really happy that the personal recommendations are starting to come now - the hard work is beginning to pay off :j Sunday was yet another wedding fair; a wedding couple came to see me and ask about some specifics for their music, they asked if I knew a specific song and luckily I recorded it in the videos I did the week before last - I haven't started editing yet so now I've promised to send everything to them this week I've had the kick up the backside to get the editing done!

I'm holding out to cash in my surveys to avoid any fees, but the £50 cashback from my car insurance became available and has gone straight to my bank account. I've managed to get the spare laptop working again, but now I'm getting used to using my main laptop for everything, I've decided I don't really need it anymore so I'm going to see what I can sell it for at C3x. My aunty is completing on her house sale this week so I have to get the last of my things out and sell or give everything away.

    Today is a busy day:

    - Banking
    - See if I can sell spare laptop
    - Take bunch of flyers to a supplier who wants to recommend me
    - Two nursing home shows
    - Shopping at the two Mr A's
    - Pick up last of my things from my aunty's house
    - Bake some brownies :D

    Happy Monday! xx

Oh the Calcutta cup game was sheer brilliance defo a game of two halfs... whatever was said at half time really put the fire back into the Scottish side and I have to say I really feel we were robbed at the end :(
I think me n the lads yelled ourselves hoarse and the air was definitely blue lol
A great game and one that will be talked about for years.

Good luck with your projects missus, you're doing grand (((((HUGS)))))

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

I was trying so blooming hard to not shout because of gigging that night!! I really feel that Scotland deserved the win too, but in general I'm just happy that the Six Nations finished with such a memorable match. And thanks for the good wishes, Uncanny. ((((((HUGS)))))) right back atcha!

Got everything done except moving the stuff from my aunty's yesterday - I decided to take a stroll for my errands, not quite realising how far the other supplier lived... 18,000 steps later, I was dreading having two hours of singing and dancing this afternoon :rotfl: I'm not much of a drinker of late, but after all that exertion I decided to treat myself to a glass of wine from @ldi so I picked up one of the mini bottles of chardonnay as a treat. Few extra bits to pick up this week but groceries still came to less than £25. I guess growing up poor has really taught me how to be frugal when I need to be :D.

The savings pot has been pretty much emptied now, but the rent is paid for the month and I'm still well in the black - in month 3 of the business, I'll take it! The car's going in for a service in the morning, fingers crossed it's not a dear one!

    Plans for today:

    - Empty car
    - Car service
    - Banking from today's gigs
    - Go back to C3x and see if they'll take the laptop and for how much
    - Pick up stuff from Aunty's and drop off key to her
    - Research for project
    - Email Sunday's photographer for the shots he took of me
    - Networking event in the evening

    Havea good day! xx

Pretty good day, all in all! I managed to get £63 for the old laptop - considering I bought it four years ago from the same company for £140, I'm pretty happy with that! So that was banked along with my gig money, and my cashback appeared in my bank account as well.

The car service was not so great - not as horrendous as I feared, but I had to stick it on the credit card because it was over £310 :eek: and I have an oil leak that'll have to get fixed at some point in the near future as well... might have to have another rummage round for stuff to sell. I have a car load atm that needs to go on all the places, and I can probably sell my office clothing - I can't see myself needing any suits in the near future, and some of it is designer (I bought it in charity shops, so I might even make a profit!).

Only spends today (except the car service) were a Mother's Day card and a couple of halves at the networking. More of a catch up really, but it's always good to check in with fellow business owners.

    Plan for tomorrow:

    - Work out
    - Make brownies (deicded to delay this so I can take them to my gram's)
    - Finish research for project meeting on Thursday
    - Edit videos into showreel, post on all the places and send it to waiting wedding couple

A million other things to do, of course, but I'm trying to not overload myself atm.

    Sleep well folks xx
