Evening!
Lovely day of volunteering and gigging today, was hoping for a NSD but I had to buy AA batteries for my mic because I'd left the rechargeables charging  so £4.20 on business costs. I suppose it's a personal NSD at least.
Spends yesterday were:
£79.99 - software subscription (essential for work)
£29.57 - groceries
£2.29 - key cutting
No parking charges as Mum was poorly and had to reschedule her MRI (apparently sneezing in one of those things is a TERRIBLE idea) :rotfl:
So I can't see where I've gone wrong, but my account has more in than YNAB says it should... once my payments from the weekend clear I'll have to manually adjust the totals because for the life of me I can't see where the extra money has come from!
Tonight will be a night in front of the pooter doing website and social media grunt work, prep for tomorrow's wedding fair and trying to not eat all the snacks ha!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

My body has had enough of this week and has completely given up :rotfl:
New website is up and running (although I still have a lot of work to do on it), today's wedding fair was ok (not really sure, it's hard to tell), only spend today was £5 on parking at the hotel so another personal NSD.
I'm absolutely shattered so I'm going to make my to-do list for the week then head to bed with Netfl!x and a cider :beer:2019 Aim: Save £10,000

I've had a really funny 24 hours - someone that I really didn't want to see was at the wedding fair yesterday, I managed to make a mistake in my calendar and missed my volunteer shift last night (thought it was tonight), and I've just been turned down as cover manager for the new entertainment company because my references didn't check out. The last one has really thrown me through a loop because I've never had any negative feedback or disciplinary action from either my old agency or the main company... I suppose it's not a big deal because it was only ever my back up, and it's looking increasingly likely that I wouldn't need it anyway, I've just never had anything like this happen to me before. I'm known for being reliable and good at my work so I'm a bit confused.
Once I've calmed down and stopped shaking (curse my panic response), I'm going to paint my nails and head out to do some outreach volunteering to help other people because that will make me feel a bit better!

Hmmm references. You do have a right to see the references, so I would ask for a copy To be sent to you.
If they start being awkward, submit a 'subject Access request' under gdpr 2016 to them. (I bet you'll find template letters online) they then have a calendar month to come up with the info you've asked for. (I'm guessing you would want to word it some thing like all documents relating to the recent recruitment process, including, but not limited to, shortlisting & interview notes & references from previous employers) references are so important, even in your line of work.
Hope you calm down and have a better day today.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Sorry you're having a difficult day. I would definitely do as wishingthemortgageaway has suggested, this way you can hopefully reflect on it and make sure you don't have the same issues in the future.
Get yourself out and paint those nails, do something for you. Hope you feel better.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Thank you both so much for the advice and good wishes. I painted my nails scarlet red and went out to do my outreach and I've been feeling better, but I'm definitely still feeling a bit sensitive still. Which is why, at least for now, I'm not going to ask for my references. Regardless of whether I think they have a point or not, I'm only going to get really upset, and considering it was purely a back up job I don't want to waste much needed energy on it.
I've taken this evening as a bit of a reset so other than sorting out my jobs for the week, I'm just relaxing.
Ok, so there is an EPIC list this week:

I can totally hear where you are coming from. If/when you start applying for other posts, then feel free to come back to me if you think you need some help/advice.
Love the sound of the nails.
Wish I could listen in on your practising. I have a friend who does similar gigs to you, started as a one off event as part of a church event, then the residential home asked her to make it regular and passed her details onto other homes. I used to love hearing her practise. (I know you do far more than that, but in my head you now loook like a blonde version of my friend- no idea if you are blonde or not)
And now I've offended you on a hundred levels (sorry) I'll slink off to bed.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Thank you so much, wishing. I'm actually a redhead haha - if ever the curiosity gets the better of you, I'll pm my fb work page over
Not sure you want to hear the practice; I tend to figure things out and experiment as I go so some (ahem) interesting sounds come out when I'm warbling on my own!
Feeling very headachey today - was definitely chomping in my sleep - but the show must go on (pun intended). Today I'm focussing on getting all my studying done for the week, and then when my grandma is out for dinner (her social life is SO much better than mine!), I'm going to start climbing up the mountains of singing practice I have to get done.
Big girl pants are firmly on. Happy Tuesday! xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

That is one huge list! Good luck getting it all done. I understand why you wouldn't want the references, at least for now. I hope you're feeling a little better. Would love to see your work If you don't mind sending me the info over!Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0

Thanks DFD, I'm definitely feeling better today and I've sent you a pm with the links to my music social media
It's been a productive day - all the studying is done and I'm feeling a lot more focussed and organised. All the finances are up to date and I've got all the music I have to learn playing as I'm tidying up admin things. And I've lost a pound :j

Tomorrow will obviously be another busy day, but I'm going to treat myself to a morning ballet class in between rushing around. It won't be a NSD because I have a TON of stuff to buy and pay for, including new backing tracks, a few business bits and bobs, the ballet class, food shopping, my NI contributions.
Right, I'm shutting up shop for the day! I've been working on this blooming computer for the past 10 hours - time to relax with a hot chocolate and some rubbish telly
Have a fun evening, everyone xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000
