Welcome back M'lady
My wee late Granny was always saying that she was never out and my Dad and Uncles would always refer to her saying, "Wee Mrs neveroot, aye right, she's never bloody in!"
and that their wee Mam had a better social life than they did... :rotfl:BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Yep, my Gram's social life is so much better than mine. She's constantly telling me I work too hard, but at my age she was doing exactly the same2019 Aim: Save £10,000

- Pick up pouffe and shoe rack I bought (for a fiver!) Shoe rack wouldn't fit into the car so it's being delivered tomorrow, pouffe is here
- Call the Grandmother Left a message, she's off galivanting as usual
- Update all finances and budgets Done!
- Plan meals for the week Done, should be a nice healthy week!
- Send invoice for work I'm doing tomorrow Done
- Unpack Done
- Laundry Done
- Make list for tomorrow Done
- Catch up on MSE Diaries I'll do that as my bedtime reading
Nice productive evening - I normally just stuff my face and relax on my first night off and I'm pleased as punch(and a little smug) that I got everything done.
To do tomorrow:
- gig
- shopping with meal plan in tow
- buy a bajillion cards for all the birthdays and weddings coming up
- check I have everything to get my Irish tax return done
- call Gram
- Social Media posts for business
- Halloween and Christmas marketing emails
Hopefully I'll get more than that done, but I'm trying to not overload my brain!
Night all xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

- gig Done, had an absolutely lovely time

- buy a bajillion cards for all the birthdays and weddings coming up Done, all the international cards have been sent
- check I have everything to get my Irish tax return done Done, need to double check my sums and I can get my return done before I head back to work
- call Gram She answered her phone! Taking her, Mum and my aunty out for lunch on Friday as a belated birthday treat :j
- Social Media posts for business Partially done
- Halloween and Christmas marketing emails Not done
I've completely run out of steam! Had a terrible night's sleep so I'm going to get an early night and get an early start on tomorrow's list
Had a quick look at business and bookkeeping courses today - there's so much out there! I'd love to improve my business and accounting skills as
a) it'll help me both now and in any future venture, and
b) bookkeeping is a potential additional revenue stream, and
c) I'm one of those weirdos that really likes school *nerd*
Anyway, loads of research to find the right course(s), I'll keep browsing but that can go onto the list for next month. I don't have time to start anything until next year so there's no rush.
Oh, and I've daydreamed a lot about running a guest house in rural France :rotfl:
In slightly annoying news, my Christmas bonus isn't quite as good as I was led to believe  I've picked up some extra work but not enough to make up the deficit, if I can find another £400 worth of work I'll still be on track to have £5k saved by mid January. I need to get off my backside and sort out sending my marketing emails!
Plan for tomorrow:
- Halloween and Christmas emails!
- Hunt for winter boots and a present for my friend's birthday
- Injection at the Dr's (boo!)
- Lunch in Cockington with a friend (yay!) If you've never heard of Cockington, Google it - it's a proper old-timey village and I love it
Only thing left to do is receive the shoe rack I bought yesterday and then I can get into my pj's with a glass of wine. Night all xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Well, I have done precisely nothing today courtesy of a horrible migraine... I'm getting them less frequently, but when I get them, they're worse now. Lots of nausea (and what that brings..), visual and aural auras - flashing lights and tinnitus... Time to head back to the doctor I reckon...
Anyway, while I can see again :j my headache is still there and I highly doubt I'll get anything done except maybe pop to the local shop for some ice cream to soothe my raw throat.
My body sure has its ways of making sure I have a day off! :rotfl:2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Well, ice cream is magical medicine and my headache has disappeared! Pretty sore tummy from the nausea-related activity this morning and I'm very tired, but in the morning I'll be right as rain.
Bit of good fortune this evening - I found my wages from a gig I'd totally forgotten about in a jacket I hadn't worn for a while :j I hope that'll last me the whole weekend, but seeing as I'm taking the famalam out for lunch and having my hair cut tomorrow, and Saturday I'm going go carting for my friend's birthday, I'm not so sure...
Plans for tomorrow:
- Halloween and Christmas emails (TOP PRIORITY)
- Get hair cut
- Take Mum, Gram and Aunty out for lunch
- Sort out storage unit with Mum - she wants to sell a load of stuff for extra Christmas money
- Irish tax return
- Hunt for friend's birthday present
- Research fun things to do when my friend visits next month
It's going to be pretty hectic tomorrow... As sure as I am that my body forced me to take the rest I needed today, I have SO MUCH to do before I head back to sea on Tuesday and very little time to do it!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

- Halloween and Christmas emails (TOP PRIORITY) Done for the most local nursing homes, next batch will go on Monday

- Irish tax return Not done
- Hunt for friend's birthday present Not done
- Research fun things to do when my friend visits next month Started
I'm so annoyed - I was ok this morning but all afternoon I've had weakness in my arms, pins and needles and dizzy spells. Having Googled these symptoms (terrible idea, I know), it would appear that these new fun things are all part and parcel of my migraines worsening... I'm considering going to bed before 7pm just to try and kick this thing!2019 Aim: Save £10,000

What a fun weekend!
Physically I'm still feeling quite tired; go-karting yesterday hasn't helped that but boy was it fun! We had a lovely party for one of my best friend's 35th birthday, and I'm so honoured to say that she and her husband have asked me to be godmother to their sonI had a couple of drinks last night but didn't go crazy as a) I didn't want to set off another migraine, and b) I had a wedding fair today. The fair was very successful - one confirmed booking with £100 deposit paid, another two provisional bookings - one for 2021
The £100 is going towards my budget for the saving - I need to do my sums but I think I need to find roughly another £400 worth of work to stay on track. A potential new client called me on Friday and left a message but I couldn't get hold of them, so hopefully I should have at least one more small booking by the end of tomorrow.
Plan for tomorrow:
- work out (only if I feel up to it)
- chase up emails sent last week
- marketing emails for further-away clients (terrible English, I know ha)
- find winter boots
- all bedding and towels laundry
- banking
- finances
- research mortgages - not a priority time-wise but I keep thinking about it and I need it out of my brain
- replace dud bulbs in my room
- call back potential new client
- sort volunteer shifts for next year
- IRISH TAX RETURN
- social media posts for the week
- follow up on networking from today
- pack for work
- tidy up
- clean kitchen and bathroom
- buy bubble bath and have a soak
If I get all this done it'll be a minor miracle!!2019 Aim: Save £10,000
Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now0 -
- work out 14k steps, I'll call that a win
- chase up emails sent last week Not done, I'll have to try and get it sorted on Friday when I have my easy day
- marketing emails for further-away clients (terrible English, I know ha) Not done
- find winter boots Done - reduced from £45 to £8
- all bedding and towels laundry Done
- banking Done
- finances Done
- research mortgages - not a priority time-wise but I keep thinking about it and I need it out of my brainDone
- replace dud bulbs in my room Done
- call back potential new client Done and converted to booking :j
- sort volunteer shifts for next month Done
- IRISH TAX RETURN Done
- social media posts for the week Done
- follow up on networking from yesterday Not completed
- pack for work Not done
- tidy up Hahaha...
- clean kitchen and bathroom Done
- buy bubble bath and have a soak Done
- emailed new clients
So mostly done - phew! Super chuffed with my boots bargain, and along with socks and bits I bought from Pr!mark today (had a voucher from Topcashback so everything cost me £1.30!) I should have all the clothes I need. Once all my purchases have gone through my account I'll transfer the clothing budget to the miscellaneous pot.
Totally forgot to budget in my Irish tax return and I have to pay them just under a grand by the end of the month. I really need to get more organised next year!
Ok, here are the numbers (not including uncleared funds today)
Accommodation: £1600 / £400 / £1200
Gifts (mostly Christmas): £500 / £102.31 / £397.69
Clothing: £100 / £10.99 / £89.01
Hair and Beauty: £50 / £22 / £28
Health: £20 / £18.80 / £1.20
Furniture: £100 / £5 / £95
Groceries: £450 / £256.97 / £193.03
Fuel: £350 / £148.20 / £201.80
Phone: £40 / £20 / £20
Insurance: £56.51 / £56.51 / £0
Business Costs: £300 / £118.83 / £181.17
0% CC payments: £168 / £42 / £126
Misc / contingency: £200 / £100.50 / £99.50
With everything accounted for, including my cursed Irish tax return, I'm now on track to save £3893... the chances of me making an extra £1107 before mid-January is pretty slim. I'm going to keep plugging away but I'm pretty bummed about not making my £5k target.
Ah well... if I think about where I've been in the past, having to fork out unexpected money would have been scary as opposed to annoying!2019 Aim: Save £10,000
