Just catching up, everything sounds like its going well for you at the moment. Definitely take it easy and be kind to yourself, give yourself some time to relax when you're off from work.

    Hi all,

Not much to report over the past week, apart from the relaxing (in context, I'm still working 9-14 hours a day :rotfl:) has been a huge help. I feel... lighter, I guess? I've also started listening to a great life coaching podcast by Brooke Castillo which I'm finding really helpful. I've been paid already and life is nice and calm for now!

Well, I've had a wonderful few days off. Thursday was just fantastic - I saw a friend I haven't seen for five years and thoroughly enjoyed the biggest show in town. And relaxing has been a bit of a revelation; it turns out I don't have to run at 100mph all the time :rotfl:

The new pad is almost set up. We have to create a bit of space for my kitchen equipment and my brother and I are drawing up plans to make a bookcase for my room - being up in the attic I've got some funny dimensions so next month we're going to have some fun with power tools!!

Life is boring in a really good way.

    Plans for tomorrow:

    - update website with PLI and GDPR statement (bit late to the party, I know)
    - pay for wedding fairs
    - update finances
    - change addresses for everything
    - chase up gigs

    - backup and clear computer
    - book doctor and dentist for next time I'm home
    - head to Southampton and stay with friend
    2019 Aim: Save £10,000
Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now

Glad to read you are doing well and that you have slowed down a little. I hope you are still enjoying the beautiful weather when you can.

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

    Hi all,

    I hope everyone is ok?

No idea where this year is going! I'm well and mostly happy, gearing up for next year and going back to singing/writing full time. Slightly nervous about giving up a regular wage but I've made it work before and I can do it again

Work has been incredibly hectic with thousands of passengers on each crossing, I can't wait for the school holidays to be over!! I'm on a fortnight off atm, had a lovely few days in France and sadly I'm off to the funeral of a school friend tomorrow, but this is the first full week I've had off since February and I'm enjoying catching up on sleep.

Financially I've spent far too much this summer but I've managed to tuck a bit of money away.

    Getting there...

Hi Uncanny! I definitely need to start updating more often, I've become very spendy recently!!!

Today was very difficult - it was the first time I've ever been to the funeral of a friend my age. He died by suicide, something I deal with a lot in my volunteering but when it's someone you know. His family and fianc! are just in shock still. I'm so glad I went. But the funeral combined with nine hours of driving has pretty much wiped me out for the day. I'm going to reply to the dozens of messages I've received today, watch some mindless rubbish and collapse in a heap.

I've now got the rest of my work year sorted - I'm staying with my current company until January and running Christmas and New Year on double pay, not too shabby!

    Plans for tomorrow:

    - find local running route and head out (I've been saying I need to get back into running for ages!)
    - send off cheque to DVLA for a new log book - not very MSE
    - send receipts and invoices
    - send order of service from today to my friend
    - check car insurance details
    - join library
    - ring the Mothership
    - rearrange bedroom
    - clean house
    - update finances

    Nuh-night xx

    - find local running route and head out (I've been saying I need to get back into running for ages!) Done, 5km mix of trails and road. It was pitiful but a start!
    - send off cheque to DVLA for a new log book - not very MSE Done
    - send receipts and invoices Done
    - send order of service from today to my friend Done
    - check car insurance details Done
    - join library Not done, but in rearranging my bedroom I found some books I haven't read yet
    - ring the Mothership Done
    - rearrange bedroom Done
    - clean house How does this always get left...?
    - update finances Done, looking good

I also took my charity shop load to the charity shop finally :j

I have a ton of new space in my bedroom now, need to find a chair, rug and table for my new reading nook, and two bedside tables. No rush and I'll be major bargain hunting!

Had a look at some properties today - there are some very affordable and lovely flats in my town, need to get my determined hat on and keep saving!!

    Plans for tomorrow:

    - Volunteering (not going to lie, I'm dreading this :( )
    - Clean house
    - Budget for rest of year
    - Check wedding fair dates for rest of year

I might add more but I might feel a bit wobbly after my shift tomorrow. I don't think my friend's passing has sunk in yet so I'm trying to be kind to myself.

Time to raise a glass to a good man xx

Nothing on my list got done today, it's been a pretty rough day so after volunteering I went for ice cream with Mum, went for a walk and had a nap. Everything can wait until tomorrow xx
