Thanks Uncanny - it's a lot better today and I've been to the doctor to get a steroid injection to get me through. Looks like the start of a chest infection but if I've caught it quickly enough I should be fine.
I'm meant to be going for my leaving drinks tonight but if I react to the injection I'm cancelling (never had steroids before and I'm very nervous!).
Today has been super spendy already - €85 on a new car battery (it died over Christmas) and €70 for the doctor - I can't wait to come back to the NHS!
Despite the voice, I had a wonderful time back at home - the last night ended up being a big surprise! I met up with an old friend for a drink and cinema trip and we ended up chatting for seven hours! He also offered me a job - not the kind of job I want (it'd be a step backwards) but nice to have that bit of security if I'm stuck come February... And while nothing happened, it was lovely to have a little flirt :rotfl:
I have to redo the sums today, my countdown budget has gone out the window and I need to see what the damage is. To be fair, most of it is unaccounted for genuine expenses as opposed to being frivilous, but still... Bit annoyed with myself that I've been so short sighted. And spending/paying/saving in two currencies is melting my brain!
Plans for today:
- PAD
- Get car battery fitted Done
- Go to doctor Done
- Update finances
- Laundry
- Tidy up
- Goodbye drinks
- Gig
- Bank cheque2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Well the gig today was not my strongest vocally but I think I'll be ok for the week - phew! The steroids have definitely kicked in so my goodbye drinks are still going ahead :j

So, the finances have taken a major battering recently with a whole host of unplanned / emergency expenses but with money waiting to clear and owed I'll still be able to pay off the credit card and have to enough to pay for all my insurances, website and initial set up back home. I can cope with not earning any money in January but from 1st February I need to earn regularly again, so the plan is to hit the ground running with R&D and marketing work. In between I'm determined to see as many friends and family as possible!
Right, time to put on my glad rags! Have a fun evening all xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Thanks DFD, I had a lovely time! About 18 people turned out which I really wasn't expecting. Saying goodbye has been hard but as I think while extremely tired (but also extremely sober), I've definitely made the right decision in going home. I'm still not quite right and I need to fall apart a bit before I start to heal, I think, and I can't do that here.
Plans for tomorrow:
- PAD
- Buy boxes and those bags you can vacuum the air out of
- Start sorting out belongings - can I be ruthless and hoard less? Probably not.
- Go to friends for dinner
- Gig
Right, I need to take my make up off, stick my face in some steam and head to bed! Night all xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000

New Year's Day gig has just cancelled due to a flu outbreak! Added to the to-do list is a scramble to try and get something else booked in...2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Hopefully you can get something else booked in but if not then I am sure you have plenty to do that will fill the time.
When sorting through your things ask yourself when was the last time you used it or even thought about it, if its been a long time then get rid of it. I used to hold on to everything but I am slowly decluttering everything and just letting go of things.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
I do indeed. I've decided if I don't cover it a day off will be good for my health anyway.
Put off buying storage until tomorrow - I'm working in Dublin and love an excuse to head to !keaI could spend all day in the place!

Tomorrow is covered
and I realised I'm missing a late payment so I'll chase that up on Tuesday. Small Ikea run is done - two bookcases, bathroom shelves, 12-piece dinner service and all my boxes and bags for moving came to €108.30 which I'm happy with. Other than fuel and a few foodie bits that's all I need to buy this side of the Irish Sea :j getting there!
Today is traditionally a day for reflection, and I've been driving for hours which gives time for some thought... This year has been rough to say the least! The broken engagement has changed my life and it's taken me a while to realise that the change has been positive. I'm really looking forward to moving back home and spending some time getting sorted and seeing all my friends and family, but I'm not going to lie - I'm heartsore, distrusting, lonely and exhausted.
I think I've already posted my New Year's Resolutions, but I've added a couple:
- Say yes to opportunities (and actively seek them out)
- Pay off CC
- Finish 2018 out of debt (unless it'll progress the business)
- Save 3-6 months of bills as emergency fund
- Make more time for friends and family
- Make me and my health a priority
- Don't fall in love with any more idiots!
I was tempted to get some packing done earlier, but now I've had a glass of wine I think I'll just relax and watch something mind-numbing.
Happy New Year folks xxx2019 Aim: Save £10,000
