    Good morning

Just taken me twenty minutes to log on the laptop - I don't have a smart phone, and I think this lappy is past it's best, but heyho, I'm on now. :)

Out of the house and away at the paid stuff from 8am 'til 4.45 pm (ish), and the day/ week has had a much simpler start as we have clean clothes for work and clean pots for breakfast. :T

I started the day with a glass of water while the kettle was boiling. And I am so pleased that I'd tidied the pizza box detritus away before I went to bed last night; much better than being greeted by it this morning!!!

Hope everyone has a productive day.

  • Right. I'm joining this thread and I'm determined to stick with the flylady plan!

I've tried the original version various times but always start out great at the beginning of the week but things fall by the way and then I feel like I'm starting all over again every time. Definitely living in CHAOS here!

It might be partly to do with my current set-up, I work from home the first half of the week and have some childcare but I'm in SAHM mode (with a 'spiritied' two year old) the second half of the week.

Hoping 'flying' along with you lovely ladies will give me the encouragement I need to stay on track. Any hints for getting housework done (and not having it instantly undone) with little people underfoot would be a big help too!

I'm off to a good start as I got all out bags/lunches ready the night before So far I've drank my water and have a bottle chilling in the fridge for when I get back from nursery run. I have the big shop to do this morning too but then I'm ready to tackle the lounge.

What kind of thing are people doing for their MAD half hour? I can't decide whether to tackle my 'to ebay drawer' or go to town on the weeds in the patio... I guess I will let the weather decide!

I'm in this week, only me at home this week (plus the cats) so house shouldn't get too untidy. Plan is to try and get some cleaning done, especially in the rooms that are already tidy and to try and clear the rest of the kitchen. Main part of worksurface and table are ok but too much junk on the other flat surfaces.
Just been for fasting blood test so back home now for breakfast.
Also planning to drink more water.

Bed made as soon as I got up, bedroom tidied round. (maybe it's becoming a habit, she says hopefully)

    Be positive & progress.

Thank you to Valli for the new list and to Natty for last week's. I'm in - sort of... We're supposed to be going down to DD's for 2 days mid-week, and college work has to have priority today and tomorrow.

Welcome frogglefraggle  and moneysavinmonkey  Baby steps is the way forward - don't feel obliged to try to complete the whole list every day.

So far I have done WMx1 and load no. 2 is in. I've also put the dead flowers in the compost bin and rinsed out the vase. DH is preparing breakfast. I have to meet someone in town for an hour or so, and Rosie has her class at 1 pm.

Energy vibes to froddy - not long to half term now and you've got that trip to look forward to :D

(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed x
  • Feeling so run down this morning. If anything, the week-old chest infection is even WORSE today. I'm so fed up with it. When I breathe I sound like Darth Vader and the slightest exertion makes me cough till I cry.

Also feeling a bit demoralised on the house front. I painted the bathroom two weeks ago, with expensive specialist paint for condensation. And lo and behold the condensation is worse than before I painted it. It is running down the walls and when it dries it leaves streaks. On Saturday I went and bought a can of the Wilkes own-brand paint that was on there before (and didn't have these problems) but haven't had the energy to repaint yet. I'm worried that they'll have changed their formulation in the last three or four years (they have changed the tin!) and now that won't work as well either. DH refuses to shower with the window open in the winter (can't say I really blame him!) and the extractor fan helps but doesn't solve the problem, obviously. We could maybe solve the issue once and for all by getting exterior insulation cladding but that seems a bit extreme, not to mention expensive...

In other news... the up-cycling project I have been working on for a week needs to be resanded. The last coat of paint dried sticky

So, all in all, I'm feeling very sorry for myself. I don't have the energy to do what I need to do and even the things I am doing are going wrong and causing more work. :(

Want to crack on with the living room tidying but OH is working from home and camped on the sofa and he's in a grump with me because I suggested we could get his mother a copy of the Swedish Death Cleaning book for Christmas. He said it was a poor joke, and I said I wasn't joking and it sort of went downhill from there...

Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!
