Everyone read the judgments? Can you all see what it is yet? Don't assume you know.
In my view the lay representatives were over confident and did not adapt their arguments to the case in hand. As a lay person myself i always find the legal bluster of threat and counter threat to be somewhat peculiar but it seems that in this case one of the representatives went beyond what is considered civil.
This was always going to be a tricky one to argue given that the defendants had actually entered into a contract when they applied for the permits.
Hopefully lessons can be learnt from this from those involved.
I did make a donation to the appeal but if no appeal is to be made I am happy for this money to go towards helping with these costs.
Finally I still reserve a modicum of contempt for Carwyn Jones who misled the assembly and the public. I made this not as a partisan party political point - I have actually voted for his party in the past - but because he has betrayed several hundreds of NHS workers.0 -

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

With regard to the NHS and other staff clobbered for costs, is it possible that they may have to declare themselves bankrupt as a result, which would be counter productive for the PPC if they ended up getting no money as a result?
There was something on one of the breakfast shows on Monday about a lady who did something that was similar to bankruptcy, but sort of one step short of it. I can't remember what it was called but again it was a way of declaring they were not able to make payments, but were still able to retain up to 5% of their assets.
I have no idea if any of this is possible, or will help. I'm just trying to think how someone in that horrible position can be lawfully helped without the scammers benefitting.I married my cousin. No it isn't. Have you read the Beavis judgment?
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Barrister not yet been in touch. Have tried making contact with chap who was organising it. As yet no calls returned.
Appeal was filed pre barrister as no judgement as present to issue for advice.

He's pretty much saying, why did you even bother defending this case.

£350 costs which appear to be in line for a reduction and you think bankruptcy is an option ?0
