I think it's wonderful that we've got so many knowledgeable newbies joining the forum.
This will undoubtedly take some pressure off the regulars who, at times, are overwhelmed by the sheer number of PCN and court claim queries appearing on the forum each day.
In order to familiarise yourself with forum process, might I advise you to read the sticky threads by Crabman and Coupon Mad at the top of page 1.
The NEWBIES thread by CM is especially informative and is packed with vital information for anyone challenging a PCN or facing a court claim. It includes a brilliant walkthrough of small claims process written by Bargepole...It's an essential 'first port of call' for newbies such as yourselves.
Coupon Mad and Bargepole are experts on the private parking industry and highly respected members of this forum. I strongly advise you to read as many of their posts as possible in order to learn from them and improve the calibre of your own advice.
Welcome to the forum, I look forward to the great contribution you will make as positive, active members of the community....
Now... there are PCN queries to answer, popla appeals to review and court defences to read.... Let's go out there and make a difference... Go for it!0 -

It's funny, I've been reading the Prankster's blogs, and not once do I see Coupon-Mad appear as a Lay Rep. I see Bargepole, and WIlkie regularly, Lamilad and a few others less often.
How many cases has Coupon-Mad won in court as a Lay Rep?0 -

Any average Joe can turn up in court and win a case against a PPC either as an LiP or lay rep. We see examples of this all the time. Doesn't make them an expert.
Alan Turing never fired a shot in WW2 or stepped foot on the battle field yet he saved millions of lives through his intelligence and the information he provided.
I'm sure I heard someone say something once about a pen and a sword which sort of sums up my point.0 -

I am in no way affiliated to Indigo, nor any other parking related company. I was definitely not there in the court room but as a newbie having read two links, the Pranksters blogs and some newspaper clippings I know everything about this case and will be able to comment on it in detail and/or defend the actions of / assign blame to any one of the above ... this is because I am indeed Spartacus ... *sigh*
Another Newbie to the forum, Lamilad must be overwhelmed with joy for yet another new supporter on MSE to fight the parking tickets.
I have already spent a couple of days reading some of the extensive threads and links within the Newbie thread and links and would be happy to assist where possible, although it has to be said I have not offered "advice" merely dissected the documents available and formed my own opinion.
I appear not to be alone in that assumption that the lay rep was a "fall guy" or that there was some "prejudice" seen in the transcripts which are "as clear as mud"
"Softwaremads comments" clearly appear that perhaps there was intention to sway the lay rep off his train of thought during proceedings by the comment
"He was told to reign it in and be silent as possible. But he could not do that. "
A comment during proceedings which is clearly geared to not be 'supportive'.0 -
looking at this thread now its like watching a load of old reprobates talking about the match down the pub , hardly any of them went to the game, nobody saw it on tv but they all know that the ref fulfils all the cliches said about them over the decades and that the result was incorrect because the ball didnt cross the line for the first goal , it was a Maradonna hand of god handball that scored the second and the third was deflected off a pigeon that landed in the 6 yard box
and they all could have done a better job had they been picked
Yes but some newbies are pretending not to be the person they are (a familiar stance by one person in particular, an habitual liar who wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face). Someone who doesn't even know their own name, never mind username(s).
And another one, a relative of the same ilk. Keep it in the family, eh...
There are posters here who were certainly there in court, but clearly they don't like this thread. Shame.
I am interested to see what dirty linen might get aired in the end; it's fascinating following this, despite the sad effect on the nurses. Sad that some ''campaigners'' have a completely different agenda than the rest of us, and their conduct causes innocent people to lose money.
Re Spartacus, it's obvious who that is and it's a friend. Just not to a couple of posters here.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No I am not Sparticus, I am logician.
Seems though I should have punctuated my comment better to

Yes he does have a sense of humour it would appear, and perhaps better posting under his original ussername...0 -

Another cryptic posting by someone, I am not sure what familial postings have occurred, however I do not believe I am related to anyone else on this thread.
May be the "dirty linen" refers to hospital laundry. No doubt lots of dirty bedsheets.
I am not sure who on this forum or on this thread were there in court.
Only "Softwaremad" or is it perhaps "softwaremad" have stated they were present.
Were you in court Coupon-mad?
bargepole appears to state he was not either.0 -
I have a day job, and I honestly believe almost every poster does not need a lay rep, and if they did, it would be bargepole or lamilad that I would recommend.
You know, lamilad, he who won v Excel (x2) despite a pepipoo thread printout *mysteriously* landing in the lap of Excel, so soon after someone posted (lying) about him being a liar...odd, that. It made some of us scratch their heads. For a nano-second.Why would coupon-mad be a lay rep. c-m wins lots of cases
on here just by giving perfect advice
But, I would guess that if c-m was ever a lay rep it would be a winner
I do expect posters here to win every case, and if I lay repped for a friend, I would expect the same and would care about the outcome, and wouldn't have another agenda in mind for attending.
The advice and hand-holding at a forum level seems to work; we all know and see week in, week out that it achieves over a 99% win rate - something that others are clearly jealous about, if they even care.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
