No. But I was ready to. I'd got my ducks in a row for the next stage as soon as I'd sent off the defence. As it turns out, I'd wasted a few hours of my time reading through posts on here, getting pictures sorted out, contacting the witness I was going to use in my case and finding out how to layout the statement etc.

If I were you, I'd do the same.

Shahbaaz, it might be a good idea to read AndySab's thread, if you haven't done so already.

I've just taken a quick look through it, looked just like the stages I'm going through and he got a result at the end of it... Am I missing something?

Yes, you seem surprised, and seem to have missed reading all the other ones exactly the same, all discontinued. Half a dozen people posted in the past week alone to say that CEL discontinued.

    These are easy.

Read other threads about CEL, you will be amazed how simple these CEL cases are to see off.

I can tell you what will probably happen. You'll get a letter from CEL saying they're discontinuing. If you do, it's all over.
    This will happen. :)

Ok so that's all I was asking that do I have to do anything now, I don't have time to sit down and read through every thread, AndySab got the letter from the county court then shortly after that CEL dropped the case, end off?

    Good evening,

I have today received a notice of allocation to the small claims track (hearing) letter from the Reading County Court...

The letter states that unless the claimant does by 4.00pm on the 29th March 2018 pay to the court the trial fee of £25 or file a properly completed application for help with fees, then the claim will be struck out with effect from 29 March 2018 without further order and, unless the court orders otherwise, you will also be liable for the costs which the defendant had incurred.

What does it say (maybe on the back page) about the date by which all parties must exchange witness statement and evidence. It does state that...so what date?
I don't have time to sit down and read through every thread,

What, ten seconds to search for the words 'CEL discontinuance'? It will make you feel far more confident if you do, and will take no more than ten minutes right now, to read the ones that declared the same as AndySab last week! It will make you sleep soundly.

Well worth it - use 'advanced search' and change the default search to 'show posts'.

    Not quite.

AndySab got the letter from the county court, then spent some time formulating a robust defence, then shortly after that CEL dropped the case.

If you are not going to bother with that middle bit then I fear your outcome might be different.

I hope I'm wrong but the OP comes across as part of the Entitled Generation ... expecting other people to do everything for them, and to feed everything to them on a plate.

I think they are just worried, and really need to do that simple forum search to see from a few other threads, that AndySab's case really is the norm for CEL.

But I want to know what the WS/evidence date is (before or after the date by which CEL have to pay the fee?).
