"They have now sent me a sinister and important letter telling me it is my FINAL demand for payment before possible court proceedings and passing it over to a debt collecting agency."

if that is the actual words used then it is still a begging letter ....'please please pay'

if it was going to court they would use a solicitor ...

    not! a debt collector .....

What to do next please?? I'm a bit scared.

NGP has been watching too much TV :rotfl:

So you ignore the rubbish and wait for debt collector
letters which will be more amusing than NGP.

Understanding this ..... if you owed money to a bank
which would be a legal debt, you would take a debt
collector seriously but when it comes to the great
parking scam, the idiot debt collectors can only try
to scare you as they have no power to do anything.
THEY ARE SIMPLY LEECHES to completely ignore

So, it's a "chicken or the egg"
Will NGP go straight for court, doubt they have the
intelligence so will need a solicitor .. or .. instruct a
debt collector and that will happen no doubt.

That's great as these idiot debt collectors will enjoy
sending you junk mail, it's what pleases them most.
When they fail, as they will do, they then advise NGP

So gives you lots of time to gather all the evidence
you need so we can help you zap NGP

Don't panic, these idiot debt collectors are powerless
which means no "door step callers", no "bailiffs"

SIMPLY DO NOT RESPOND TO TIMEWASTERS
  • Would it be beneficial to re-send the original email to their only email address pointing out the same thing as I said before? Just so that if it gets to court I can say I haven't completely ignored their pleas for payment?

as an adult you should do whatever you feel is best

we always tell people to IGNORE the debt collectors which is what post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread tells you to do

it is unlikely that they will read or action a new letter , but if it makes YOU feel better to do as you describe and to keep proof of postage etc , then do so (you dont need our permission)

so do whatever YOU feel comfortable with

I have read it, but I also read somewhere (there is lots of information being presented by lots of sources) that someone was fined in court for failing to acknowledge any correspondence from the parking company at all.

FYI I have decided to ignore the letters (from the IPC affiliated company) as their in-house appeals process is flawed. I will wait for the court summons before responding further.

PS- my email to them in the first place was designed by this forum and although I am a big boy and can decide whether or not to take advice from people on this forum, there is also a great deal of trust one has to place in the advice given. I take the advice on here very seriously as I assume, rightly or wrongly, that people wouldn't post advice on this forum unless they had considered it very carefully themselves.

Many thanks to all who have contributed so far, I have learned a lot but still do not have complete confidence in taking this on; it's a big deal for millions of people like me who would normally just 'pay up', so I speak for everyone when I say I value your help.

Can't wait for a nice juicy court summons.

Still a bit more to learn.

No one would be ‘fined’ for failing to acknowledge correspondence from a private company. The person may have lost his/her case on the main basis of a contractual issue; the lack of acknowledgement may have played a small contributing factor, but no one has ever been ‘fined’ just on that one point alone.
Can't wait for a nice juicy court summons.
Why? Do you have a criminal case looming too?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If someone ignored court papers then the PPC would get a default judgement. There wouldn't even be a hearing.
