Post Office* Online Saver account - useless

Every weekly schedule I've ever seen involves a payment being made on a certain day of the week (e.g. every Tuesday) so I can't visualise any other workable definition....
(Note of caution if you're using a weekly DD to fulfill the Co-op Reward requirements: in the last year, one DD payment was not made on a Thursday - it was delayed until the following day. To guard against this happening this February when the last day is a Thursday, which would mean only three DD payments in the month, I've already made an extra one-off DD payment from my Co-op account to ensure there'll be the required four.)0 -
..the Post Office on-line accounts and access to has always been an pile of poo...loads of previous posts on this subject.
After my own experience of their terrible service I would not touch them with a barge pole regardless of their interest rates....but that's just me......"It's everybody's fault but mine...."0 -

But people aren't using these accounts for the interest rate!0 -
Surely even with the Post Office's eccentric modus operandi, that 'quarter of a month' definition makes no sense as such periods would obviously not equate to actual weeks (except for 3 months out of every 48).0

I have been one of many posters who regularly point out the shortcomings of PO online savings accountsBut people aren't using these accounts for the interest rate!
I would say that is true of every regular poster on here, myself includedFair point, I was just concerned whether weekly truly meant every 7 days, or every 365/52 days... either way I should be guaranteed at least 3 payments per month... :T
I too can confirm that my weekly DD taken on Mondays fulfills the Co-op's requirements:)
By way of balance, I made a successful withdrawal this week, on first attempt:T so my cash has served its purpose by visiting PO and is now happily back with Co-op, having collected £4 pm.0 -
Rubbish online banking. It look over 5 weeks before I could access my new account, whilst I waited for a succession of letters sent with ID's and passcodes.
Then when I try to use online banking to make a payment, they need to send another damn letter with another code!!
What is the point of online banking, if it involves waiting for letters by post??
Totally useless; will be opening a 21st century online account, and closing down this joke of a service from the post office / bank of Ireland.0 -
Is it still possible to set up a regular DD to a PO savings account?
I tried to set one up today, but when I click the 'Next' button, nothing happens. The 'Next' button works when making a one-off payment (tried in multiple browsers).
Am I missing anything obvious, or is it just one of the many problems with the PO online platform?0 -

You need to use a date that is sufficiently far in the future for the first payment to be set up. Try 18 March.0 -

Not unusual in itself... What is totally incompetent is that their system doesn't tell you that.. or give you a calendar/date selection boxout that only shows eligible dates.. or even an error message to remind...0 -
Thanks for the answers - the option to pick a date wasn't even showing up for me so showed I was missing something. Tried on a PC instead of a Mac and it worked.0
