No it won't do.
These links concern the registration procedure of EU nationals in the UK.
We were discussing UK nationals living in the EU. You know, that thing you're so concerned about.

The EU has every reason to be doubtful about our Home Office's capacity to handle the EU citizens registration process in a correct manner.
Not a week goes by without another story of another Home Office screw-up where deportation letters are sent to legally residing EU citizens. Or look at Windrush.
And we are supposed to trust them to deal with +3M EU citizens' registrations? You're having a laugh.

The EU isn't using you as a bargaining chip, they seem to be more keen than the UK are in ensuring your rights.

Fair enough, the letter from the UK about EU citizen registrations in the UK also made some throw away comments about UK citizens in the EU. The EU (as far as I understand it) has done nothing to jeopardize those citizens' rights, and it's assumed they'll either mirror the UK deal or allow them to register in the EU for free.


You need to remember that what the EU does regarding UK citizens will depend almost entirely on what the UK finally decides to do with regards to the 4 freedoms. If it keeps them, then there's no problem.
