Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

Why would anyone even bother to try as nothing would change your opinion? If the economy doubled in size over the next ten years, you would still be telling us how much better things would be if we were still in the EU.
You mean that you can not list any advantages of Britain leaving the EU. None, nil, nada! There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Haven't had time to digest this yet but thought some would appreciate it
It is a bit of fun. Thank you. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
From that Zoe Williams, Guardian article;
southerners voted in greater numbers; their votes were decisive. Furthermore, most leave voters are middle class, or at least were of the generation whose housing and pension windfalls put them squarely in the category of wealth.
That article by Zoe Williams is wheeled out by Brexiters again and again. Zoe Williams is a good writer but was wrong in that article.0 -
You celebrated Obamas ground-breaking data mined, targeted social media campaigns. Same with Labour's 2017 GE social media campaign.
Remain outspent Leave by 2/1 & benefited from a £9m Govt leaflet backed by almost the entire establishment and global elite. Leave was vastly out-gunned.
Remain thus had vast campaign advantage yet still lost.
Yes I agree Vote Leave was outgunned....that's why they resorted to fraud. It stinks to high heaven and we need a second referendum in the interests of fairness. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/mar/26/vote-leave-members-may-have-committed-criminal-offences0 -

Only in your opinion because it cannot be proven to be wrong. Just like polls of a few thousand people trying to suggest the voting pattern of over 40 million can be proven. The only way to know for certain is to examine each vote and that has not been done. So what we end up with is disagreement like this where neither side can claim a conclusive factual demography.
Not that it matters really because the end result was a vote to leave, regardless of who voted for what and it is this that some remainers just do not like. I say "some" because the truth is that very few people care, they just want Brexit over & done with.
Look at this thread as one example. Now as I write, in this entire subforum "Debate House Prices & The Economy" there are 2 people viewing, and it has dozens of threads in the subforum. By comparison the subforum directly above, "House Buying, Renting And Selling" has 430 and the one below "Savings & Investments" has 142.
Statistically that shows that certainly as far as visitors to these forums are concerned, the vast majority have no real interest in Brexit. They are interested in houses, savings, cars etc. etc. much more than in Brexit.0 -
It would be nice if we could have a second referendum where people were voting on whether they wanted to leave the EU or not, rather than a collection of grievances ranging from being frightened of Muslims to their mobile phone bill being too expensive (there will be a lot more immigration from Islamic countries and higher telecoms bills after Brexit).
But the Right narrowly scored a win, doesn't like democracy at the best of times, and would lose a second referendum so I can't see it happening.
Britain is a divided country with diminished influence. It faces the nightmare of it's imperial shame once again in Northern Ireland, and will in all probablity be waving bye bye to the Scots, who were lied to during their own referendum.
Exactly what Brexiteers voted for.0 -

Alas almost no Leave voters seem to care about keeping NI in the UK, if it means they get their Brexit. Presumably similar numbers regarding those pesky Scots (and their strong worldwide exports).:

Which of these is the greatest priority:
1. That the United Kingdom leaves the European Union
or
2. That the union between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom is maintained
Leave Voters
That the UK leaves the EU: 71% !!!8226; That Northern Ireland remains part of the UK: 12%
Remain Voters
That the UK leaves the EU: 9% !!!8226; That Northern Ireland remains part of the UK: 47%
(rest being neither or don't know)
Whether the 47% of Remain voters caring about NI is because they care about NI or because it's likely to kill off Brexit, I don't know.0
