Political expediency is kind of the be-all and end-all? The Tory (and maybe the Labour Party?) is all that matters, far more than the search for democracy.

Yes, life has been simply intolerable whilst in the EU and we've done so badly out of it. I'm so glad we're leaving.

That's a terrible retort to hard facts.......

but let's get the bread and butter of regional trade sorted first.

Which is of course what we're doing. Leavers always said Brexit was not about reducing trade with Europe.

The good news is that the cloud of calamity that is David Davis is being put out to pasture on the sunlit pastures of brexit soon so at least he won't be involved.

    When will this happen?

What happened to all those other received wisdom gems > 'Trump wont last a year', 'Trump has a 20% voter ceiling, he cant possibly win, the demographics say so',
'Trump's economy will immediately collapse & not recover', 'those off-shored jobs & factories wont be returning, Trump voters will feel they were lied to', 'the Tory / Liberal coalition wont last 12 months, coalitions never survive in the UK', 'the UK will be in recession by 2016 / 2017 / 2018'?
Restless, somebody pour me a vino.

    QUOTE

The Government has indicated to Sky News that British consumers may have to pay roaming and data charges when travelling in the EU after Brexit, unless a deal can be reached.

    OMG, how will we cope!

Meanwhile - The UK's export economy is at its strongest point since 2000

  • The hard facts posted daily by brexiteers seem to indicate life's pretty good for the UK inside the EU.

Mind, that pea under the mattress is really uncomfortable...
Only to those of such perceived royalty that the pea can be felt which seems exclusively remainers. ;)
  • Out aviation minister Baroness Sugg rebuffs remainer fears regarding UK airlines:
Minister says "despite some reports to the contrary" Brexit aviation talks have been going well
"Despite some reports to the contrary, talks so far have been positive and we have made significant progress."
She added that it was "obviously a high priority" to provide reassurance for the industry, and as negotiations progress, the government will continue to work closely with them.

    Bloomberg sent me this today.
    QUOTE
Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel cracked a joke at Britains expense on Wednesday as Tusk presented his negotiating guidelines, and it sums up sentiment on the continent to Britains approach, past and present.

They were in but had a lot of opt-outs. Now they are out and they want a lot of opt-ins.
    END QUOTE
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
