Project Fear Pt 59.
Really, really?
You're still falling for it even now?
Prediction; Open Skies will of course be resolved & then Remainers will say 'oh well, I always said it would be'.Restless, somebody pour me a vino.0 -
Young people everywhere have been rebelling for as long as anyone can remember but I doubt that they are rebelling against patriarchal traditions alone. The Church is, to my mind, one of the most fascist organisations on the planet so rebelling against it can hardly be called fascist, hard or soft.
What young people want above all is to make better lives for themselves and in a country with 35% youth unemployment and real earnings less than they were pre-euro, there's little chance of those better lives. Any rebellion is against politicians who have failed them which is why they have rejected the social democrat government and voted for the alternatives on offer because they have nothing to lose and if the EU doesn't like it, tough.
Sorry if I misled you......I was meaning to say exactly that about the church.0 -
Former Remainer Sir Christopher Meyer confirms what Brexiteers were saying on MSE 24 months ago & be ridiculed for. Of course we hold good cards, we aren't a weak petitioner, we said all along fishing was vital for Spain and others;
Telegraph Tusk wants our fish? He's the cherry-picker's cherry picker! Fisheries are one of our most important cards, to be sold very dearly indeed. Absent a deal, we have it in our power to wreck the fishing industries of several EU countries.

You win some you lose some, business has always been about change.
I could post dozens of recent links to good news stories such as;
In the last year we had more than 58,000 tech startups & more venture capital invested in UK than in Germany, France, Spain and Ireland combined.

One of China's leading financial services companies has acquired a UK funds boutique.

The Chancellor knows what the score is. he's clearly less than enthusiastic about our brexit future: Harry Cole (@MrHarryCole) Chancellor declines the chance to say that Brexit is worth it when asked by @JasonGroves1 March 7, 2018 Tusk points out what our options are narrowing down to as layed out by Peston:- Robert Peston (@Peston) This is most important political statement in EU draft guidelines for trade talks with Brexit UK. It says only deal available - a basic free trade deal - will have “negative economic consequences” for UK and EU - and that is price worth paying. @theresa_may seriously rebuffed pic.twitter.com/a1JPHg0C4U Peter Foster in the Telegraph regarding Tusks comments: Peter Foster (@pmdfoster) Tusk @eucopresident has that "this is going to hurt you, more than it hurts me" voice...administered prior to a good thrashing. Now warns against a "pick n mix" approach - says this is "out of the question" and "not in our [EU27] interest". March 7, 20180

Tusk says 'one priority for the negotiations must be to avoid any disruption of flights post-Brexit'.
Deary me, I was promised by Remainers that the EU would ground our flights, lol.
Mmm, because that wouldn't have inflicted massive damage on Club Med tourist destinations, lol.
You mis-remember. We've never said EU will ground flights, just that leaving the EU with no deal leaves no provision for our flights to take off. No one would want that, it's just another unintended side effect of the no deal rhetoric.0 -
That's why 2 of the top 10 cars by sale volume in the UK are Vauxhall, then?0

A bit disingenuous that since you're talking about last year. In January this year the UK's # 5 the Mokka (awful name IMHO) is made in Spain and the # 9 the Corsa is made in Spain or Germany. They are not UK made. In February only the Mokka was top 10.

The Astra which is made in the UK has been on a bit of a decline selling 11,500 less in 2017 than in the year before and it looks like the decline continues. Warnings came in January when 1900 workers were layed off besides which the current model is due to end production 2021.
Nobody can afford to make cars that aren't selling, do you not remember the days of British Leyland and their demise?0 -
On the subject of cars if a little off-topic ...........
Exclusive: Nissan in talks to buy France's Renault stake in merger preludeThe carmakers are in talks with government officials over proposals by Renault-Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn that would see Paris give up influence at Renault and the French carmaker relinquish control over Nissan, according to three sources.
Will the French really stand for such a large Japanese say in their auto industry?0 -

That there will be less EU-UK trade than there otherwise would've been is a given and about the only thing on which there is broad consensus.0
