Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

Cogito, that asking the question until they get the correct answer is a lie, always has been and you've been corrected on it several times.
Ireland, rejected Nice and Lisbon 1st time around, accepted in the second.
(Also Norwegian voters rejected membership of the EU in two referendums (1972, 1994) - so far I don't think their Government has tried a third time.)
A small proportion perhaps, but it does happen.0 -

It will take many years for this "wave of disaffection" to pass unless the EU's powers-that-be do something to stop it's advance, and there are zero indicators of that so far.

As for the SPD being stronger now; in your dreams!

You may well be right that Germany's weak coalition won't do the UK much good re: Brexit but it's no surprise I suppose that you would try to paint Merkel as somehow being in a better position than the UK's May. She certainly is not.
That's one more reason why the coalition has given itself a review in two years time with the possibility of another election then.0 -
I think this is why we're seeing such vocal expressions of what is obviously fear-related hysteria from remainers in this thread:Theresa May’s plan for ‘immediate’ break with EU after Brexit
Despite what they might try & tell us, we all know that these remainers really want the UK to remain in the EU. One way or another. Well it's not going to happen.0 -

On the contrary all my links are mainstream. All you have to do Tracey is watch Barnier open his mouth. Mayhem can't even get a consensus in her own cabinet never mind the country. We are so screwed!0 -

Yes that's right I want to remain in the EU. I don't know what the 'despite' is about....I've never said anything else. I agree it's not going to happen....that's why we're screwed!0 -
Yes that's what I was saying so I wasn't talking 'bull' was I. I find it amazing that brexiteers are actually willing the wave of populism to grow just so they can be proven right about brexit. Its all irresponsible wishful thinking. Germany and France will drive the project forward and we'll bend over and take our punishment, then scuttle away to our corner singing 'Rule Britannia'.....but no-one listens anymore. The fact that the Mogg dresses like someone from the 19th century will fool no-one except naive brexiteers!
The likelihood now is that the EU will more and more become a United States of Europe.
The British aren't the only ones who don't want that you know, so imagining that these EU countries will just roll over and submit to becoming a part of that is what is naive.
I have a feeling that before long there will be parts of what is now the EU saying "we should have done what the UK did sooner!".
These countries are already watching not only Brexit you know; there's Switzerland; Poland; Hungary; etc. etc. etc. and the EU's actions are not exactly looking favourable for what these see as democracy.
So you really shouldn't let your personal abhorrence of a few politicians colour your judgement of the bigger picture.0 -

Are you getting a little bit confused?
I said "What you mean I think is that you can't find anything to support your cries of doom and gloom?"
Barnier in case you didn't know is nothing more than a puppet; a (supposed) mouthpiece for the EU and there to do their bidding and no more.0 -
You clearly know nothing about me.....I want a United States of Europe and have said it many times. The bigger picture is the United States of Europe. Your fantasies about the break up of the EU through nationalist movements in member states should be resisted by all sensible people. Nationalism only ends with war and hate. Yes look at the bigger picture.
We want out.
