It starts with a letter....but what's next? Brexiteering brown-shirts rounding up 'dissidents'?

Light needs to be shone into some of the murkier corners of what passes for university teaching these days but whether this is the right way to do it is another matter.0 -
The letter is a blessing. Look at the huge over reaction to a simple request for information. All of a sudden it's thought policing and they won't comply. The veil slips... on MSE too.
So an MP asks for information, academics refuse on the basis that they will not be thought policed... The letter says nothing of intention with the information, but the reaction from the left wing media (incl. BBC, let's not pretend otherwise) and posters on here is assuming that he wants to shut down anti-Brexit debate. How shallow you all are, how pathetic. Equally as bad is the government not standing up for a simple request for information. The left is truly perverse these days.0 -
I can't stand this misuse of the phrase "the left". It's so lazy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Ditto for "the right" presumably?
No, actually. For the record I consider myself very central. I don't see as much abuse of the phrase "the right". But generally they strike me as meaningless categories.
Edit: To expand on this most people I see getting called "right wing" would happily be labelled as such and indeed would label themselves.
The other day I got called a liberal lefty because I didn't think every muslim in the country should be shot. *shrug*This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

What was he thinking? Someone on Sky said he might as well be a recruiting sergeant for Corbyn.
It's as though politicians of both sides are incapable of stopping to mull over unintended consequences before sticking their size elevens in it these days. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
