You have elections on May 3rd in Luxembourg too?

No. The Luxembourg Genera Election takes place in October 2018.
You can read about it Here.

The Council elections were in October 2017
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Are the German coalition talks going to drag on that long?

There are suggestions that this weeks talks might end in a Government but don’t hold your breath.

Brexit will be the final 'big' job for a few politicians. Juncker, Barnier (?) & Davis will be retiring. We'll likely have a new Tory leader at the next election and, although he says otherwise, it's difficult to see Corbyn taking labour into another general election.

Barnier has one eye on Junckers job. It will/might depend on the Brexit deal.
It’s a shame (For Britain) that Davis will end his career with Brexit (his book of the negotiations will be a best seller I imagine) and on the other side you have the lead negotiator still trying to impress.

In which case you probably meant "you just love elections" here then?

We just love elections. Next one on May 3rd.
As they're local elections and you are resident in Luxembourg, surely you will not be eligible to vote?

Oh and it's "here" btw; we hear with our ears. Apologies but your grammar is often atrocious.

Sorry Tracey if my grammar screeches on your ears.
    Please forgive me.
I do know the difference between Here and hear, also there and their. However my spell checker often does not. I often return to a post to correct but sometimes the grammar Nazis get there first.

My original post about elections was a failed attempt to show a post that had as much relevance to the subject of this thread as all the other posts for a couple of pages before it.
It is slow news at the moment. I believe the next meeting in Brussels is at the end of the month. Before then we are in that phoney war period that we have suffered before in this long, long difficult process.

Just like EU citizens resident in Britain, as a Brit resident in Luxembourg I can vote in council elections.

As a British Citizen having lived outside Britain for fifteen years I have lost the vote in Britain. Cameron’s General Election manifesto pledged to restore votes to Brits living overseas for life. Then he called a referendum and then resigned!
That pledge then disappeared from Theresa Mays manifesto.
It might interest you that a number of Country’s allow their citizens to vote for life regardless of where they live.
    Democracy is a strange thing.

    In regional or council elections?
    Really?
    Do show me where.

    BTW, it's "countries". ;)
Perhaps you are now more-used to Luxembourgish or French, in which case your "screeching" grammatical errors are more understandable.

Luxembourg have the same types of elections as England.
    1) Council Elections
    2) Parliamentary elections
    3) European parliamentary elections

As a Luxembourg resident and an EU Citizens I CAN vote in 1 and 3 but have to register (once) to do so. Voting is then obligatory either in person or by mail. If in person I have to take my passport or ID card.
While once registered I am obliged to vote I suspect no one is prosecuted for not doing so.
Because of the above Luxembourg has a turnout of close to 100% so results are truly “the will of the people”
Elections here and in many other EU Country’s is Proportional Representational and not first pass the post as is the case in Britain. That is why Luxembourg normally has a coalition Government.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Fifteen years is a long time. Perhaps the memories you hold are different to the reality. Time moves on. What was is no longer.

Under PR, the 2010 government would have been a conservative/UKIP coalition, and we would have left the EU with a clean Brexit by now.

    Tracey,
Here is the link about EU citizens voting rights in the UK.
You will see they can vote in Council Elections and Police commissioner elections.
