Perhaps thinking ahead and not booking non serious operations in January. Then if you have the capacity call people forward. Having told them of that possibility when they were booked for a February op.
I think it’s called planning!
Not so happy news.
Britain and Theresa May on French TV news FR2 this evening for all the wrong reasons. Terrible images of people on trollys and waiting ambulances, you know just the same as you see on UK TV. The NHS crisis was mentioned and her “apology”
Britain SHAMED in the eyes of the world. Thank you! There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

It maybe coining a phrase from earlier in the day but this is a Brexit thread, why are you bringing up a domestic UK issue?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
But the EU can't start further negotiations until the back end of March. Why not? Could it be that they are unprepared?
Wrong, end of January negotiations over the transition period start.
If and when that is agreed trade talks “might” start in March.
They have their procedure and structures. There are 27 of them after all.
Britain now have plenty of time to get ready and hopefully be prepared (this time). I believe the first meeting is Monday January 29th.There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Remember last year, gfplux?
It's not just a British issue, is it?At least 52 dead
627 admitted to hospital
142 hospitals out of 850 on full alert
(Figures: French Public Health Ministry)

I completely apologise. You are quite right.
Let’s hope others who want to discuss a club (EU) that Britain is leaving take that discussion to another thread. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Ok you suck me in to an off topic comment.
+30 years ago when my French wife first came to London she was told by other French people who had experience of the NHS
“If you fall ill...........go straight to the airport!”
Given the present crisis do you think the advise would be any different today?
Sorry everyone off topic.
Unless we look at the issue as you suggest that freedom of movement has meant many health care professionals from EU27 are working in the NHS. These valuable people might leave as Brexit day gets closer. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Apology accepted.
I do think however that in the face of constant posts where the UK and its people are constantly disparaged, it’s wholly appropriate to flag up the fact that all is not completely rosy in EU land.
Any thoughts from the usual suspects on the newly installed fascists in the Austrian Government depriving fellow EU citizens of benefits?
As an aside, although no fan of this Tory Government’s policy of rationing money to the NHS, I think I heard today that the OECD rates the NHS as the worlds best.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

I am told that after Brexit if you travel in your car from Britain into the EU you will have to arrange additional insurance. This comes from an acquaintance who has this interesting info from his insurance broker.
Now that sounds another disadvantage of Brexit. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Farmers said they are worried so Gove speaks to them at their Oxford Farming Conference - and meets with generally a positive reaction.

That's not enough for some posters though is it ilovehouses?
It's a straw waving in your face.
Apparently the National Trust and the landowners responsible for conservation are to be likened to "foxes babysitting chickens" too; small wonder I suppose that ilovehouses hears "voices" and must resort to posting what pretty much amounts to gibberish and insult as if that is the sum grasp upon reality.
No, it's not all looking rosy for farmers because of a speech by Gove and no, of course the industry isn't all gooey-eyed at his plans.
But seriously, if that last post is supposed to be evidence of "more than a basic grasp of the state of British farming" it's a fail.
Again.
Why do you think farmers are generally positive about his speech? Is it because it's looking like the taxpayer is going to keep topping up the pockets of wealthy landowners perhaps?
Seriously, it doesn't take much in the way of deep thought.
Try it and you might understand (if not agree) why some people don't think farmers can be entirely trusted to be responsible for conservation of the countryside. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

No comment on the Austrian fascists?
Are they not xenophobes and racists?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
