    Thanks for the heads up.
    I have now found this
    https://ahdb.org.uk/brexit/
    And this

Amazing someone has done impact reports. I will need some time to read it all. I hope and assume no bias.

Yes I just added those to my op, so we cross posted. It would be really useful to have a sticky somewhere with useful reports and impact assessments.

I think that the AHDB are writing their reports in a fair and balanced way. They are funded by the farming levy and are a sort of quasi governmental body.

    Good morning Tracey,
I have found a journalists piece covering the Barnier press conference.
This from the EU positive Politico.eu. Despite that I feel the source material gave a closer feeling of the EU’s attitude.
    https://www.politico.eu/article/michel-barnier-post-brexit-transition-to-end-december-2020/?utm_source=POLITICO.EU&utm_campaign=c58af7aee7-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_12_21&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_10959edeb5-c58af7aee7-190026745

    It a short read.
Thank you for that link although I did "get" from yesterday's video what was said.
IMHO it contains nothing unexpected and TBH the reasoning behind the transitional period cutoff date makes perfect sense as well as appearing mutually agreeable at this stage.

It's just a shame that you can't contribute to the thread whilst you're busy being so serious.

So Theresa May is off to Poland today, offering the support of the UK just when the EU issue threats to Poland and start the process of removing their EU voting rights.
Brexit will strengthen not weaken the UK's ties with Poland, Theresa May is to insist on a visit to Warsaw - where she will announce plans for enhanced defence and security co-operation.
Poland will still "matter greatly" to the UK after it leaves the EU, she will say, citing shared history and values.

I'm not sure what he's on about. A bit of personal abuse and claim that every brexit voter knew what the 4 freedoms are I think. I told you the next page would be good.

  • The doubters won't much like this either.
It looks very much like preliminary discussions around trade are indeed being undertaken ahead of Brexit when these deals can be finalised at last.
The British Government has demanded total secrecy in its free trade talks with the US for a post-Brexit deal, i can reveal. Liam Fox’s Department for International Trade (DIT) has quietly opened preliminary discussions with a team of American officials.
Both sides have agreed that their talks will be classified as either “sensitive” or “confidential”, and information will be shared only among approved individuals.

It seems that my statement regarding "It is because some, like yourself it seems, are incapable of interpreting facts" is correct.
    See that there < ?
    Tracey.
    As in, female.
Then you have the temerity to describe my post as containing "a bit of personal abuse"!

Gosh how incredibly embarrassing. Thanks for bringing it up.

  • The EU began the Article 7 process against Poland yesterday.
Politico reports that Romania may well head towards the same fate.
Romania could be in the EU hot seat like Poland if the ruling coalition pushes ahead with changes to the legal system, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said Wednesday, according to the national media.

The EU have invoked article 7 against the Poles and in response, the Poles have said 'get stuffed'. The issue as I understand it is that the Polish government has voted to have more political control over their courts. Macron is calling for sanctions.

The curious thing about all this is that the French executive have had control of their courts since the revolution but I don't hear Macron calling for sanctions against France.
