As I've said on here before, I voted remain and think that falling out of the EU with no deal would be terrible, but I still wanted to ask the question philosophically.

I try to ask lots of questions and bottom out issues from both sides, as it's the only way to get to the crux of the matter.

Do I think we should pay? Yes
Do I think we can be forced to pay in a no deal scenario? I'm not convinced.

Agree on both counts, although I'm hardly an expert on it, I'm not convinced there is any legal ability to enforce the obligation in the event of a no deal Exit, although of course a truly acrimonious Hard Brexit would probably cost the UK economy a lot more anyway

The Tories' dreadful week, month, year continues as it is revealed that the nation is defying Brexit bumpkins' views, and half the UK wants another referendum on a Brexit deal.

Of course this puts Theresa Dismay in a quandary, as her hopeless government is not capable of framing anything like a deal with the EU, so there won't be anything to vote on.

  • This has now moved on and there appears to be an agreement of how big those commitments are.
    Could still be nil.

In principle I agree to pay you everything I owe you.

An online poll of just over 1000 people on behalf of The Mail On Sunday.
    :D
    Conclusive evidence that.
I suspect that it's no more than some TMOS readers winding remoaners up.
    Looks like it worked, too

It's a Survation poll, the only pollsters to accurately predict the General Election results.

    Ouch! Remainers 1. Bumpkins 0.

You continually amaze me with the contempt you show for people who don’t agree with you it’s shows a misplaced arrogance.

Not really a proponent of another referendum, but still, interesting to see the swing.
Only a couple of months ago, 'another referendum' polled at around 15-20%.
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Whilst not a court route, the EU could quite easily refuse to let us use their airspace or grant any VISAs for UK passport holders (as 2 quick examples) until it's paid. We'd then either be faced with paying what they want, or spending years dragging it through the WTO.

I'm glad that you are able to find comfort from the Daily Mail. Meanwhile, the only score that really matters is:

    Remainers 16,141,241. Leavers 17,410,742

Well, 348,214.84 of the Leavers have died of old age since the referendum, so it's getting a lot closer than you think.
