So they can't complain about us shafting them because gave them money 7 years ago? How long do they need to be subservient and grateful for?
We're happy to have free trade between the UK and Ireland. It's the EU who won't allow it. The Irish should be harassing the EU, not the UK.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
A very clear example in Bloomberg today of why the EU struggle to make decisions. The current fudge -- a cautious five-year extension with an easy loophole for unwilling member states -- is a typical European compromise involving national political actors, big corporations, farmers, Brussels technocrats and the noisy but insufficiently empowered European Parliament. It's a decision that pleases few people but checks a box and makes an issue go away for a while.0

Immigration falls to 230,000 in the year to June 2017 whilst EU emigration out of the UK rises by 28,000.
Hang on, 28,000 more left the UK over the course of a year than the previous year?
Compared to the near-quarter-million that arrived in the UK it's not a huge number. Certainly not a mass exodus as we keep being told either, is it?
Though it does seem that less wannabee car-cleaners are arriving. The figures, published on Thursday by the Office for National Statistics, show that the number of people moving to the UK for a "definite job" remained stable. But the amount of people "looking for work" plummeted by 43% - down to 74,000.0 -

The desperation of some people is becoming even more palpable when such sources are used. Oh, and we'll ignore the EU shambles which is affecting so many visitors to the EU from around the world which that is supposed to refer to will we?
:whistle:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

The more cynical amongst us might see a connection between Bayer's recent acquisition of Monsanto and the German government's green light to the use of glyphosate.0
