Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

Of course I know but they are a tiny minority. Corbyn isn't really interested in Brexit. He's more interested in social issues and re-distribution of wealth. I also know the driving force for Brexit is from the right. ....from people who don't give a toss about you and I.
I think Corbyn is extremely interested in Brexit, he just knows his views are totally out of step with the majority of his support base amongst the membership, so he tries to say as little about it as he can.0 -

I think Moby knows that for the sort of change that he and I want, then Corbyn/McDonnell need control of the all economic levers. That can't happen if some of those levers are operated via Brussels.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
I have just been reading the MSE budget summary having come across it by chance. Given that we will be leaving the EU on 29 March 2019, I found it ironic that from April 2019 the government has increased air passenger duty for long haul flights for everyone paying for a higher class of travel than economy.
So just as businesses are expected to go and find new markets for their products, the price to get there will increase. Unanticipated consequence of budget or cynical ploy? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'm hearing reports from Germany (not necessarily trustworthy) that moves are afoot to remove both Merkel and Schultz with a view to restoring the grand alliance.0

Private Church says
"The UK Govt wanted to settle citizens rights almost from day 1 post referendum and the EU said no ,to their shame or had you forgotten that fact. I think its fair to say that this has influenced peoples decision more than any other including the rise of reported hate crimes immediately after the referendum. Now the increase in reporting of hate crimes is not the same as a rise in actual hate crimes but I admit the air was tainted by a small minority of the public. As for the NHS staffing problems well that can also be down to pay, current value of the pound and working conditions rather than Brexit. .
You may believe this if you wish but it is simply not true. The "offer" in June 2017 by the UK Government was far below what is required by the EU for their Citizens in Britain and British citizens in the EU. It was totally unexeptable and therefore no agreement was reached. It was then that it became clear that the British Citizens living in Europe were not very high on the British Governments agenda.
When It came to the financial settlement the EU provided a list in May 2017 to use as a discussion. Britain has not wanted to discuss it untill very recently. Many quittlings say walk away, but the financial settlement would then be settled in the courts. It will not matter which side has the best argument the amount will still be VERY substantial.
The third key issue was the Irish border. This has just been ignored by Britain. We didn't even get a photo opportunity with David Davis looking at the border.
I don't want the talks to move on to phase 2 as my selfish wish (I have never hidden the fact) is to see all the details of Citizens rights nailed down. Ireland has also woken up to the fact that if phase 2 talks start the Irish border just like Citizens Rights will be crowded out by the hundreds of other issues PLUS the trade talks. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Merkel strikes me akin to Mrs T after she made policy errors. Her days appear numbered. Open door immigration was a costly mistake on her part. Never win back many of the electorate.0 -

With perhaps a second parallel between Schultz and Nick Clegg. His party has lost much of its support after being in coalition with another party that followed policies that were not popular. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
