Have you freed up space on your phone?

After I did the latest iOS update, it completely wiped out my storage. I couldn’t even use WhatsApp! Someone suggested I completely reset my phone (a very old iPhone se). I backed everything up and when the phone restarted I had saved 3gb of storage! Bit of a faff, but worth it.0

If you have an Android phone, you will find that certain apps cannot be uninstalled via the phone itself. However, you can uninstall any app by using ADB. Root access is NOT required.
The following command will list installed packages:pm list packages
And the following will uninstall a package:pm uninstall -k --user 0 <package name>

In your guide here: "https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mobiles/boost-mobile-storage/", I think you'll find that if you back up your iPhone using iTunes, then even if the app is deleted and no longer downloadable from the appstore, you can still recover it from iTunes. I did that for a couple of old iPhone 5 apps that were no longer available0

I've had a look at this latest article which has just proved that I have a very stupid phone. Most of the instructions are for smarter, better, more knowledgeable phones than mine so are not very helpful. Or include things like "install XXX and then click on the hamburger" which again doesn't help as there is no space on my phone to install anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Hi all, my first post so i hope it helps some, I have an iPhone XR with 64GB memory, for a while it has been filling up & eventually started failing - extremely frustrating! I tried all of the tips mentioned in the original article already & it they worked a little for a short period, then i realised that over half my memory was taken up by "system data" about 35GB!I initially sorted this by backing it up to iTunes on my laptop & restoring the phone - a real pain but worth itHOWEVERThat lasted about a month & the "system Data" filled up again...This time i did it differently - I used the "free temporary storage" that iCloud gives you when backing up the phone to iCloud for transferring to a "new" phone - so, instead of using the iTunes backup & restore - so far this has worked far better & I have got over 30GB back!It is still a bit of pain as you have to set up all passwords & accounts again - although much of this is simple if you have another apple device to help restore your apple ID from but again - definitely worth it.One extra bonus is that it keeps your phone digital skills in good shape!I hope this helps some.0
