Hi,
I've had a really productive weekend. Managed to sort out DC2 & DC3s bedrooms and have almost finished DC1s too. Have thoroughly cleaned them all too and used carpet spray on them, so they smell amazing! It definitely shows I'm getting old that I'm so excited by cleaning!!
Yesterday I paid £25.50 to CC3 and today (thanks to topcashback becoming payable) I've managed to pay £33.50 to CC3.
So... end of month debt roundup.
Total debt at 30/9/18
CC1 - £0
CC2 - £0
CC3- £7,221
CC4 - £11,570
Total debt - £18,791.
(Total debt at 30/8/18 - £19,669).
Managed to pay £878 off this month, which I'm quite pleased about. I'm hoping with DH not working away as much next month, that he may be able to do a bit of overtime and we can pay off a bit more. Really want to be down in the £15ks by the end of the year.LBM Aug 2017.

I like to get stuff on ASAP otherwise it just sits there foreverAt least if it's listed, and sits there forever, there's an opportunity to change the price.

Well done on the productive weekend. That's a great amount to have paid off in a month. Well into the 'teens' now :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Great work on the debt reduction, and the cleaning!
I am wildly allergic to all carpet cleaners I've ever tried, so DH has to do it when I am out of the house for a few days, but it does really freshen things up.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.

Morning,
I forgot to post on here yesterday, which was silly of me. Spent time yesterday sorting my October budget on ynab and making sure all transactions are listed. I transferred all my monthly savings amounts and my account looks fairly rubbish again! Transferred £6 to CC3 yesterday.
This month I need to remember that Halifax will now take the dd regardless of any overpayments, so can't use the money during the month for daily payments. Will be back on shortly with today's pad.LBM Aug 2017.

I've cancelled my direct debit on my Halifax credit card as that's the card I'm currently tackling and hoping to clear it by the end of the month so don't need the direct debit to be active.......... It's so silly, I hadn't even considered cancelling my dd! I should do this, as I pay money off the Halifax card (cc3) most days.
Just quickly popping on to say I've paid £5 to CC3 today. DH is away with work all this week, so life is slightly more hectic again, especially as DC3 is teething and waking up more than usual at night. On the plus side, I'm definitely more organised when DH is away, especially in terms of keeping on top of the day to day cleaning. Other bonus is I get to watch what I like on tv for a change!! Hope you've all had a good day.

I have just fallen victim to this too. Paid the minimum amount off my newish Santander card the other day, and I see they are still taking the DD for minimum payment. Must go and cancel it for future months. Fortunately only £50, so I'll just reduce my overpayment to another card, but tedious nonetheless.
I am also fearsomely organised when DH is away, and turn into a total drill sergeant with the DCs!Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.

The worst thing about DH being away is the house being more disorganised once he's back!! I know that sounds awful, but I get such a good routine when on my own and when he's back I find myself only doing half the amount. I need to continue my good habits once he's back.
Anywho.. today I've paid £10 to CC3. Visiting my mum in a bit and taking the DC for a long walk at the woods with the dogs. The DC are planning on bringing their adventure backpacks, so that they can collect leaves, acorns, etc. We bought a scavenger hunt game for DC2s birthday (which I'm pretty sure i pinched the idea from TOPM), so we might have a go at playing this whilst out.LBM Aug 2017.

Morning,
Had such a lovely time at the woods yesterday with my mum and her dogs. The kids absolutely loved it and DC3 did brilliantly walking all the way round. I absolutely love autumn and there's something about going to the woods when the leaves are starting to fall and it's a crisp day. Love it!
Today DH has paid £250 overtime money to CC3. This means this card is now in the £6ks :j. I do sometimes wonder if I'm being a bit silly paying it back before the 0% ends, but I think I would rather have it gone than have savings matching the debt amount. It is pretty satisfying seeing the debt figures going down each month.
I had a phone call from our financial adviser yesterday. He's arranged to come and see us to discuss our pensions and a general catch up. I'm always filled with real dread before he comes, as I used to work with him, so I find it highly embarrassing having to admit out debt levels and that we are STILL in debt! He's reorganised mortgages, etc for us in the past to try and free up money to pay off the debt and yet here I am still with a substantial amount to pay off. Luckily we have another year on our fixed rate mortgage before we need to deal with remortgaging, so I really need to try and reduce the debts as much as possible by this date. Financial adviser is coming nearer end of the month, so I need to try really hard to get the figures lower by then!!
In other news whilst in the garage last night I noticed that DH hadn't shut the door properly on the second freezer . Luckily the milk could come out to defrost, but I've had to chuck mince and 2 large packs of sausages!! So relieved that the freezer only had a few bits in it, as it's usually crammed full. Oh well, hopefully it'll make us both double check the door each time we go in there!LBM Aug 2017.

That's a shame about the freezer, ours is prone to doing that as well
If you saw your FA last year, he'll notice a massive difference in your debt levels, you've done amazingly!
I don't think you are silly paying back the 0% early, you know it's gone then and don't dip into the money for anything else."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
