Congrats on the payments! £1,586 is fantastic, & you didn't have to put the tax refund on it - plenty wouldn't have, but you did because you rock at this debt-clearing business. Well done :money:

  • Thank you all for your kind words :). I've been thinking the last couple of days about my target debt figure and I've decided I'm going to attempt to scrape into the £15k's by the end of December. It may not be very far into the £15k's, but anything starting with a £15 would be a really good achievement. Not sure if it's doable, but I'm going to try!

Yesterday we had a really lovely family day out, which involved lots of walking. We ended up walking over 7.5miles sight seeing around a nearby city. DC1&2 did brilliantly walking that far (DC3 was in the pushchair) and we were all absolutely shattered when we got home. As a result today is going to be a very quiet lazy day at home. DH took the DC downstairs this morning so that I could have a couple of extra hours sleep. I'm so pleased he did as I felt awful this morning. The cold/sore throat the DC had, has made its way to me and I feel pretty rough today! Going to dose up on honey and lemon drinks today to try and get shot of it ASAP!

I've paid £9 to CC3 today and £200 to the EF. EF currently stands at £3,000. I still haven't had to take my car in to the garage, so hopefully I won't have to raid the EF account any time soon.

  • Thanks Abba. As DH has his own business and I work part time for him I'm desperate to get the EF to a decent amount. Ideally 3 months salary, but that'll take ages to get to that stage.

Today I've paid £10 to CC3. That's takes my annual debt payments to £11,040.60 . Such a huge amount of money - can't wait for life once we're DF :).

Groups are all starting again this week, so I need to start being more organised!! Starting today, with swimming lessons for DC3. Here's hoping I can find the swimming costumes!!

Hi Abba, thanks for checking in :). I have no real reason why I haven't posted as much recently. The days seem to have flown by and I seem to have got out of the habit of posting, as well as having my monthly 'meh' moment about debt!! For some reason the small bank round downs I had been making in previous months doesn't seem enough at the moment. I seem to be waiting to make big payments and the lack of debt reduction is frustrating me. I need to get back on the daily posting and give myself a kick up the backside as any payments towards debt is a bonus.

  • DH is back home working locally at the moment :D. Is really lovely having him home every night. DH has applied for a new contract which will make use of the new qualification he got on the course he did earlier this year. Down side to the contract he's applied for is that it'll mean working away again :(. We should hear next week if he's been offered the position. It'll be pretty rubbish if DH does work away again, but he thinks we should use it as an opportunity to visit new cities in the country (we could stay with him every now and then). I definitely want to travel, so I need to think of it as a good opportunity and not dwell on the fact that it'll be hard work for me being at home with the DC.

Since I last posted I've managed to make a couple of pads and the dd for cc4 has gone out, so the debts are now:
    CC3 - £7,935
    CC4 - £11,570.

  • Morning

Have just checked the bank accounts and updated ynab. I've rounded down my bank account and sent £3 to CC3. Need to transfer some of my savings back to my current account, as the annual payment for ynab has come out. Also need to analyse my home ed subs savings and see how much I've got available for each. Have been meaning to do this for a few weeks, but still haven't done it. Hopefully I've got enough saved for everything, otherwise I'll have to amend the budget next month.

Yesterday we had a spendy day. DC2 has an opticians appointments & I had a contact lens checkup, so we popped to the nearby city after DC1s swimming lesson. Had to get new shoes for DC1&2, as they'd both gone up half a size. Managed to get a couple of bits for DC2 & DC3s birthdays, so I'm pleased about that. Luckily the spending is all budgeted for. We've also been making lots more use of the virgin lounge that account holders can use for free every time we go shopping. It's so brilliant being able to sit down and have free drinks and biscuits/fruit. They even have a PS4 for the kids to play on!! Not only is the drinks nice, but it saves us over £10 on drinks.
