I'm not sure if this helps or not:cool: but this is the transcript of a web chat I have just had while searching the youandb website in search of an answer. I'm giving up now as its no use to me as a previous switch incentive recipient, even if it is available:p

'badger09 A friend has told me I can get £250 if I switch my current account to your B account at Birmingham. Is this true? Thanks

    Agent
The web chat service is provided by the B contact centre. For all online and telephony channels the £250 has ended and this is no longer available. We are not able to guarantee if you can have the offer if you visit the B Birmingham branch as it can be withdrawn at any time.

badger09 Sorry, but that's not very clear. Are you saying you don't know if its available at Birmingham. Or are you saying it is available but might not be, depending on when I get there to apply?

Agent The offer has been withdrawn. I can not comment on branch specific offers. If you want to discuss this you would need to into branch I'm afraid.

    badger09 OK. Thanks'
Yep - not a lot of use to me either as I got in for mine & OH in time.
But if I was already kicking myself for missing the offer and was sent on a couple of hours fruitless goose chase 'cos someone fettled a good coq & bull story....

What, so now branches can have their own independent policies? never mind what happens with HO!
    It sounds very........odd

I can confirm this offer is still available in the B Birmingham store as of yesterday. I saw the signage in the window last weekend but didn’t have time to go in. I live about a 45 minute train away from Birmingham so spent most of last week trying to double check if it was still available, thinking I’d go back for some more Bratwust and get some free money! All enquiries via phone -
First advisor said the offer had been pulled and was no longer available anywhere. I then saw that it was still advertised online for the branch so thought I’d try to speak to them directly to triple check. I couldn’t get put through to the branch but the advisor that time told me the offer had been pulled online but stores have discretion for their own offers and he’d get the branch to call me. They didn’t call so I chased it up on Friday and that time the advisor told me the previous guy was wrong, branches can’t do their own offers and the offer had been pulled full stop 🤦! However he apologised that I hadn’t had a call and said he’d chase that up.
Yesterday morning the branch called me and told me the offer is still available in store, so I jumped on a train that afternoon and opened my account an hour later, with the £250 switching offer 👍
So, as of 25/11 the offer is still available in the B Birmingham store only. They said it could be pulled at any time (seems like they’re just going day-to-day) and there’s no set end date.
If you’re travelling I would suggest trying to contact the store before you go but sadly that’s easier said than done. (I can’t find a direct line for the branch so you have to go through the main call centre)
Shame the contact centre don’t seem to have a clue what’s going on but the actual store and it’s staff are great, opening was weirdly enjoyable and I got a free day out in Birmingham with enough switching money left over to beat any other switching offer.
    Hope this helps.
  • Brilliant! I enjoyed going into the store too, glad you got through all the confusion
    mortgage free 3/10/12:)

    Good luck with that one!
Hope you enjoy your visit to Birmingham.... might be a wasted trip?

I suggest you guys learn the lesson before casting sarcasms to other members. Asking query is good but casting sarcasm as if you were the only person who could be trusted in the forum is not a norm in any respected forum.

I might be wrong but I have seen there are a few members in this forum do not feel sincere if other members get rewards will impact on their getting their rewards.

If you actually read all those commenst that ar encouraging you to travel to Birmingham and give it a try if you feel confident.

I have no strong feeling either way on people getting rewards but encouraging people to make a wasted trip would be unfortunate.

    Hi Just-Jack

Glad that you managed to get the deal.

I'm still amazed that one branch has managed to carry on when the deal nationwide was pulled so quickly- and the website and call centres were struggling with the huge demand.
Maybe it's significant that this was the very place where the deal was rolled out to start with. Who knows!

    Enjoy your welcome 'handshake!'

It’s a brand new flagship branch for the bank as prior to this there was no Yorkshire, Clydesdale or b in Birmingham City Centre as such is probably to increase their market share as a branch and compete with other local branches that are close by

Have we entered a time warp?

    hgt 24-11-2017, 3:20 AM #722
This is because as several people have tried telling you, the £250 switching incentive is long since finished.... regardless of which brand or which branch you visit.
It was piloted in Birmingham, then rolled out nationally, then pulled about a week later after they got inundated with switch requests
