Have we entered a time warp?
hgt 24-11-2017, 3:20 AM #722
This is because as several people have tried telling you, the £250 switching incentive is long since finished.... regardless of which brand or which branch you visit.
It was piloted in Birmingham, then rolled out nationally, then pulled about a week later after they got inundated with switch requests.

That's worth a trip for you surely, can you report back and let us know how you go on.

Well I suggest you toddle off to Birmingham and report back to us all when you've got your £250.

......
Agent The offer has been withdrawn. I can not comment on branch specific offers. If you want to discuss this you would need to into branch I'm afraid.

Fine, I'm happy with my responses you're obviously not, we'll agree to disagree.
If they are still offering this in Birmingham then great, seems an odd thing for the bank to do and obviously isn't communicated very well as their own staff generally don't seem to be aware of it.
I've opened my account online and am awaiting the incentive in the next few weeks, if you've found an alternative for people involving a trip into the the Birmingham branch then great.
You seem to be taking this very personally, it's a forum for debate, just lighten up a little and if your research helps people then great.0 -

Apologies for prolonging this now tedious discussion, but adindas, would you mind explaining to me why you feel my post is insulting 'MSE member intelligent'?
This is not something I've been accused of before.0 -
Yes badger09 your posts are usually excellent and helpful. I don't think he should have included you in the list.0

Well, not really like to prolong this but someone was asking which need explanation.
This quotation was not intended for the person who posted the online chatting. So not intended to accuse the poster of the online chatting. Who was simply posting what s/he were told.
But the quotation is more to show the response of people to that post who seems to be happy if the news that the offer of £250 available in branch was not confirmed.0 -

Then don't quote that post.

Why was all the debate on the branch availability an issue?

Just have to say this is in my opinion a terrible account, the limit of £1000 payments a day is ridiculous, as soon as I have my £250 I will switch elsewhere, is HSBC the current favourite?0

What £1000 a day limit?0
-
There is a limit on transferring out of £1,000 per day, £500 per transaction. This can removed by using either a security token ( you can request one ) or, if you have the B account I think you can get round it by using the app, although I'm not 100% sure of that.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0
