Ignore my last message I've referred to the T&Cs and I'm good!
  • Same for me Northern Mum - only 1 of my DDs has gone over, the Tesco Bank ones showed on TSB side, but have no disappeared into thin air, so I've set them up again.

Nope just within 31 days, then within the following 31 days. You can credit immediately if you want, but obviously if you're using it genuinely (not sweeping money from account to account) some people aren't paid until last day of the month/last working day/last friday etc!

Be very careful as to what constitutes each 31 day period though.... I think it would have been easier to say "credit £1,000 before the end of the calendar month following your switch... and a further £1,000 the calendar month after that".

e.g. if you switch 5/11 you have until 31/12 to credit (because you might only be paid on the 1st) and then until 31/1 to credit again. If somebody credits on say 30/11 & 2/12, then not again until February, they've actually not met the requirements. Not sure if it's intentional, I doubt it because the terms are fairly easy to comply with compared to some hoops you must jump through.

I read this differently - you need to deposit £1000 within the first 31 days of the switch date - using your example of switch being on 5/11 then this needs to be by 6/12. It then states to make a further deposit of £1000 within 31 days of this. I assume that "this" means the date of the first deposit after the switch and therefore you could pay in £1000 the next day.

I read this differently. I interpret the "this" to mean the first 31 days following the switch i.e. the 2nd deposit needs making between 32-62 days following the switch regardless of when the first deposit was made. This means that in the example the 2nd deposit needs to be made between 7/12 and 6/1.

The T&C PDF I downloaded is a little clearer:

"Credit your account with a total of at least £1,000 within the 31 days following the completion of the switch and a further £1,000 in total in the following 31 days."

I've set my next £1000 to go in 32 days after the switch completed.

My switch isn't due to go through yet and the card not arrived- yet- but I received x 3 identical letters asking for a sample signature! Seems their system can only count 3 and above!!
Maybe I'll get x 3 debit cards- hope not.

3 x the £250 switch incentive would be even sweeter :T

Yea that's the ones I've got downloaded

I think it's still potentially ambiguous (is the day you switch day 0 or day 1...), but people would be pushing it leaving it to the last day.

To avoid any problems it's fairly easy to sort - e.g. switch on 6/11 and then £1,000 on the 12th Nov and 12th Dec and there can be no "issues" as those dates would clearly be within the first lot of 31 days, and the 12th Dec clearly in the 2nd lot of 31 days

I have few brain cells today so excuse the silly question, but I've been using the desktop version to login to Internet Banking rather than via the app. Does the Token apply to the app only or both as I didn't notice any reference to the Token...
    Free thinker.
  • Token definitely applies to Desktop as it keeps harassing me to register mine (got sent one for my old account ages ago).

If payments are low value and you've not previously requested one, they'll go through without the token though
