Offer £250 to switch to Clydesdale, Yorkshire or B
Comments
-
-I got an account approved on the 28th of October
- I have the card sent by post.
- There was not option to switch online.
Finally get through the phone lines today to switch and I am told I will not get the £250 - can this be legal?0 -
Well, I still don't have the vital security code to open the account or set up the switch.
That's just over a week since it was despatched so have had to order another one.
I am assured that they will still honour the offer....... unbelievably slow considering I started to try to apply on Monday 23rd but it would not accept my postcode online.......... Talk about a saga and a half!!
I have already told them that I want to switch and named the bank so fingers crossedBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Got my security code yesterday to finish application online and it was not accepted grrrrrrrr and ended up phoning them to complete it. Still unable to view anything online as i will have to wait for letter with details to be able to register for online banking.

I opened the account and set up the switch online successfully, so the option must have been there, maybe you missed it ?0 -

There was not option for me - and reading this thread many others..0 -
Just thought I would add my bit to it, I switched my accounts before the deadline and all is ok hopefully. My wife decided to do the same and we made an appointment in the branch for 3.11 as all the appointments were full up. I contacted them on twitter and they said they would honour the £250 since she made the appointment before the 31.10. Fingers croseed!Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
Kudos to the people behind B account, who had the courtesy to send a text just now:Due to high demand, it's taking a bit longer to review your B application. Please bear with us,
we'll be back in touch within 5 working days
That one text has changed my mood from thinking "this is poor" to "this is good" about their customer service. I'm happy to sit back now and be patient - it's the little touches that count!June 2018 diary:
Debt: £13,169.83 (all on 0% CC til Sept 2018, repaying £500 a month)
Mortgage: £191,000 (on Repayment, 5-yr fix @ 2.39%)
Savings: £12,300 in various accounts @ between 1-5%, milking until August when will pay off CC0 -
Just to add to this - I applied on Monday (30th) and received a confirmation email today. I rang them up and a very helpful person explained that I was eligible for the £250 as I'd started the application before it was pulled. She then did the switch over the phone.0

TO be honest, I feel the opposite. I was told 2 days. Ive waited four, and now it could be nine.
Baring in mind I applied on Tuesday 24th October initially. I have had constant problems with their website and phone lines, no replies from email and twitter, and been messed around completely. (I eventually got through to the 'please wait 2 days' screen on Friday, due to the website constantly crashing before then)
I STILL don't have a yes or a no on my account and they have pulled the deal.....IF they get back to me and don;t offer it to me I won't be happy at all. I understand it's free money and all that, but a process that should have taken me half an hour has taken me now 10 days and now that very offer is under threat.
Anyway, lets hold out and see what they say.0 -
Managed to open accounts for both myself and the wife. Just got to sit back and wait for (hope for) the money to arrive. If it doesn't, I haven't lost anything so hey ho. Theses offers are like London buses, another will be along anytime now.
I'm more annoyed at TSB than just the latter letter. Been a customer of theirs for years but and all I see is bonus being paid to newcomers. Guess I've have to leave them, then sit tight until whatever length of time needed until I can apply for a new account.0
