It doesn't matter; the account that is drawn on is determined by the account number and sort code. The bank is 'officially' The Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank Group. 'B' is just the account name.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    following day:
    £250.00 switch details email.

so no mention of the £250.00 in the 1st 2 emails. good luck.

I've just completed the online form with SSE to request to change my DD bank details, after which I received the following message:

"Thanks for using our online Direct Debit form. We'll complete your request in the next five working days.

We'll also send you a letter saying that we've set up or changed your Direct Debit. If you're due to make a payment in the next 15 working days, that payment will stay the same. That's because we have to give your bank notice when we change your Direct Debit."

Is 15 working days considered a reasonable time scale to change DD details? Seems very tardy to me. My SSE DD pays out on the 16th of the month, so if the 15 working days is true then it looks like I will fail to have the DD paid out from the Clydesdale within 31 days of switching as I chose the 7th November as my switch date!

You need to read the T&Cs again - hint, there's a link in my post 2 on page 1 of this thread:)

Thank you. I had actually read the T&C's but I must have got the 31 day and 62 day criteria mixed up in my pea brain! :embarasse

    4. The account must have two direct debits set up, both of which meet all of the following criteria:
    a) They are transferred as part of the switch or are set up on your B current account within 62 days following the completion of the switch;
    b) Payments must go out from your B current account under each direct debit within the 62 days following the completion of the switch; and
    c) They must not be cancelled before we have made the payment of £250 into your B current account.

Regarding point a), what happens if the DD is setup on the B account before the switch date, but is not due to pay out until after the switch date. Is that still acceptable? (I'm thinking of the unlikely possibility that my other utility provider is super efficient and manages to execute within the next 7 days my request to change bank DD details).

It seems perfectly clear to me.

Both DDs have to pay out within 62 days of the switch date.

It doesn't matter whether either or both are set up on the old account and so are included in the switch, or set up after the switch as long as they pay out within 62 days of the switch date:cool:

But what about my 3rd scenario of the DDs being set up on the new account but before the date of the switch?

The way I read it is that that would be OK as well. The important point is that they pay out within 62 days of the switch, I think.
