Almost at the end of the month, and I’ve survived it (just!). Work has been insane (but in a good way). We have a HUGE deadline on Monday and I think we’ve got everything done (I have just finished checking some stuff, and will have more on Sunday). If Monday goes well I think we’d all like to collapse in a heap, but realistically the pace isn’t going to slow.I have interview set up for a vacancy starting w/c 2nd (not hugely impressed by the candidates HR have found, but it’s a junior role), and need to get a job description written and ad out for another. And get a better idea from the existing person in the role I’m building a team round about what he is actually spending his time on and how much work there is. It’s like getting blood out of a stone. I’ve told him I can’t increase headcount without a business case.
Lots of domestic drudgery to get done today - housework, laundry, cooking (have defrosted some chicken thighs to make a Thai curry, so need to remember to make it), gardening. I need to go for a short walk too, as the chronic fatigue clinic have told me to start a 10 minute daily walk and a couple of short Pilates and yoga sessions a week. Obviously I haven’t had time…
I have a work trip to the US booked (we go out on a Saturday as flights are cheaper, so I’m planning on staying with friends Sat-Sun), so need to find work clothes I fit into. And lose the flab in 3 weeks… so it’s FAST 800 from now on (this will be fun with family staying - my mum is here for 10 days which isn’t a problem, but the rest of them next weekend will be more complicated, including eating later than I like) until I leave and for as much of the trip I can get away with.Must get up soon, open all the windows and get some air in and some cleaning done.
Not much left in the bank, but payday is on Monday. Mortgage OP will be small, but there will still be one, and a little to savings too.Landscaping will be over soon, hopefully any other work on the house too, and then anything left in cash savings can go to pensions ahead of the end of the tax year. After than it’ll be building up lump sums for PBs.So I have a plan… just need to get up and get on with it!10 -
I'm vicariously excited about the landscaping. Will there be lots of planting to do afterwards?6

The plan is to sell in the spring (or as soon as I can get things finished and decide I like it) as I want to move back to East Anglia.
Carpenter called and is due shortly, so I need to put some jeans on and make myself look human and awake.8 -

I need to sell this before I look seriously, so I know how much I have to spend. And the good news it that the carpenter can fix everything fairly easily, and will probably do it in the next few weeks. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed!6 -
I used to live in the Brecks, used to annoy the hell out of me that it could take nearly an hour to get out of Norfolk, whichever direction you went in. The dualling of the A11 between Thetford and Barton Mills has helped considerably though.Mortgage Free November 2018

As and when your move happens let me know, I can help this end if you need help, or we can meet up for a drink / walk etc

It would be lovely to catch up again! Thanks Kaz.
For now I need to get this house finished, and find somewhere about half an hour from my mum (she found me something 200 yards up the road from her, which I have explained firmly is NOT an option 🤣

Best of luck with the fast 800 - it can be fairly hard going as you'll no doubt appreciate. I'm on one of my two fast days today, I tell myself that my ability to include one of the "fun" weekend days shows I'm all growned up, but I remain unconvinced5

Thanks Ed. I've done it before, and been very successful with it, and continuing the low carb for quite a long time afterwards. I just need to get back into it - meal planning and routine would help enormously, but work is so busy at the moment that both go by the wayside. However, as the fatigue clinic want me to try introducing 10 mins of exercise a day, I need to be eating properly too.7
