I need to chase the granite geezer, but also enjoying being left alone for a while 🙄 excited to see where your plans lead!9

Well apparently I'm not allowed to buy another house that needs work...9

£25 from PBs landed in my bank account so used some of the insomniac hours overnight to transfer it to savings. This month will be tight, due to Xmas credit card bills, but it looks like there will still be a surplus to split between savings and mortgage. I need to work out how much extra I want to put in pensions/ISAs in March. It won’t be as much as last year as there’s no redundancy money to top them up!8

Congratulations on PBs!3

Yep, PBs are good
loving the idea of an eco new build, though, I'd pay to watch that
2023: the year I get to buy a car4 -
I've asked on my diary but I thought I would ask you as you are supremely practical, greenbee.
Any top tips for homeworking please?3 -
Erm... I've been working from home for around 15 years, so I'm all set up. Two desks (one rise & fall), 4 monitors, lights (I think I have 5 daylight bulbs in my office!), external mic, decent chair, under-desk treadmill... radiator... door that shuts! Also numerous headsets, chargers, ipad/phone stands etc.
Also scarves/wraps (sitting still is cold), radiator on FULL all the time while the rest of the house is ticking over, wrist warmers/fingerless gloves. Close to the loo, far from the fridge...
Mind you, I'm working 12-15 hour days right now, which I wouldn't be able to do if I wasn't working from home.
I'll have a look on your diary and see what advice you're after.5 -
This is useful as you can keep it on the corner of your desk:

Good point about sockets. I have dado rail trunking will what feels like a million sockets for all my stuff. As well as floor level sockets for the desk/treadmill/shredder/oil-filled radiator.
If you have monitors with USB ports, work out what you can run off those (chargers, lights - anything that needs power but not connectivity) as it cuts the number of sockets you need.
Also try to use a wired connection rather that wireless, it's more stable (I flood wired the house when I was renovating - I was already working from home at that point).3 -

A wired connection won't be possible yet but the rest will.3
