My attempt to put up the shelf was unsuccessful - the holes were slightly out of alignment. So rather than try to fix it (and make more of a mess) I've hung a picture over it and decided that I really don't need more fiddly shelves with stuff to dust on them. I'll stick it in the garage with all the other bits I need to start putting up on FB to give away. It did make me realise how dark the room is, so I need to find some lights to attach to the outside of the wardrobe, and also for the chest of drawers so that the mirror is useable. At some point I also need to rehome the rocking horse as it takes up so much space.8

Totally with you on open shelves, grrr. And low tables made of slats which accumulate dust on *every* surface. Oh, did I say that out loud?

We call them dust gathers in our house.

I should probably be in bed... but I've had a late burst of energy (I'm hoping this is a good sign, and doesn't mean I'm wiped out tomorrow). I randomly got a Tesco slot for tomorrow, so lots of veg, meat, fish and cheese is on it's way. Plus some stuff I probably don't actually need, like ice-cream... Meal plan is done for the week, as is a list of garden and house stuff to do.
Electrician was here this week, so kitchen electrics are pretty much done. I'm hoping final kitchen queries are done so the order can go to the factory and I can get a date and book the installation (and choose the sink/taps/worktop/splashback/lights/cooker hood). Most of the contents of the kitchen are still in the dining room and sitting room. I'm moving things back as I use them. Although I do need to move a bit more so I can sent the robot round some of downstairs.
This week has been tough from an energy perspective. Lots of resting. Did 30 minute morning yoga Mon & Wed, Pilates Mon/Tue/Wed. I need to do the full week next week. Today was good - work went OK, plus some laundry (so not all over the floors upstairs anymore) which meant I could then sent the robot round up there. Mopped bathroom floors (and downstairs loo and kitchen AGAIN and the plaster dust seems to finally be gone!) and then sent robot round again. So upstairs floors now look and feel cleaner which is nice. Last lot of laundry will need to be hung out again, and I have one more load to do. Made green soup with the veg bits again, which I need to decant from the pan tomorrow. Some for the freezer, some for next week's fast days. I have to weigh on Monday and get back on track. I know eating better will help me feel better - today had some bad food (toast, welshcakes, profiteroles) but I also managed to sort out a big salad for lunch and tray of roast veg with a lamb chop for supper. (yesterday was salad for lunch and fish and veg for supper so that's two days in a row). I'm really hoping that eating better will help things improve.
Blood was taken on Tuesday. LOTS of blood. Antibody test is negative, but apparently that doesn't mean I haven't had the virus as some people with positive swabs now have negative antibody tests. So waiting for the rest of the results.
This weekend's must-do is sorting out the raspberry netting. Everything else is a nice to have. If I do it a bit at a time, it should be manageable. I just need to be patient and take it slowly.6 -

I just need to be patient and take it slowly.you'll be fine - don't just keep going, even though you feel like you have the energy, that was the hardest one for me to learn. But every case is different - and it sounds like you're getting to grips with yours.

Thanks @Karmacat. I got up before Tesco turned up (well, got up several times - first to take pills and drink water to deal with the now familiar morning headache, then to open the greenhouse, then to hang out yesterday's washing to make sure it was dry and make some coffee) and was dressed and getting the garden furniture out.
I've sent the robot round upstairs again, and it came out from under my chest of drawers festooned with cobwebs! But the brush is getting less clogged with hair, and the bin is getting less full of dust. I'm just going to keep redoing it every time it charges for the moment. I might even dust my bedroom at some point...
Tesco delivery is partly dealt with. Freezer stuff does't get sanitised, just straight in the chest freezer. The fridge stuff has been washed, dried and put in the fridge. Some will need portioning and then freezing. Veg that was packaged (I'm always upset by the amount of plastic when I have s/mkt orders) is now unpacked and washed, so I'm nearly there. I did have a rest after doing the fridge stuff though.
I'm all set up to do the raspberry cage. Extension cable out first, then drill/screws/drill bits/screwdriver/pencil/tape measure taken round. I've screwed two bits together and am halfway through fixing one bit onto the base. It won't be very professional or tidy, but it should work. And I should be able to get it done by the end of the weekend. I also need to sort the hotbin out as the temperature has dropped - I suspect I haven't been feeding it enough. And I need to work out what to do with my tomato jungle as I've neglected them and I know I should have been pinching out the side shoots...
It's warm here when the sun is out, but we have got lots of cloud and a cool breeze, so sitting outside reading does mean a lot of on-and-off with the jumper! I've got a load of towels in the WM which should be done soon. I've already brought the other washing in. Salad for lunch, 2 lots of soup in the fridge and 2 frozen.
I've also put on 3kg in the last 11 days, so need to start weighing both myself and my food again. I'm hoping most of it is water-weight from the toast-and-ice cream diet, but suspect not as body fat is up. However, that may be partly due to having a week with no exercise and another with not much. So I need to get back to the yoga and pilates as I know they help. And the gardening, obviously... Luckily I have lots of books arriving to keep me occupied when I run out of energy.7 -
Raspberry cage didn't work, so I took it apart again. My brother is going to come and help me construct it properly sometime. I've given the tomato plants a haircut, and cleared another section of stream as well as making a start on the strimming and mowing. Hotbin seems to be behaving again, and the compost heap is almost full again. I need to finish harvesting this crop of radishes and get the next lot sown, and start picking mange tout and broad beans to add to the vast supply of lettuce. Courgettes are starting to grow, so I might see whether I can make stuffed courgette flowers.
Robot has been deployed upstairs several times so the floors are clean (although the bathroom floors could do with a wash. I managed to clear the hall and office floors and run the robot round those, but the sitting room and dining room are still full of the contents of the kitchen, and the kitchen and utility floors are a mess. However, I've now painted one corner of the kitchen with some left-over paint from the dining room and can start moving stuff back when it has dried - there may be enough to do another corner. While it won't mean it doesn't need doing properly, it will make it feel like I've made some progress... and look different! If I could trust my drilling, I'd put up some shelves temporarily, and move the utensil grid, but I seem to get everything wonky at the moment so it's not worth the risk.
I've totally failed to get to grips with diet and exercise in the last week, but I'm hoping i have a bit more energy this week and can get on top of things. I want to try to get a meal plan done before I go to bed tonight, and hope give pilates and yoga a go this week too. Blood tests are back, but my GP was off last week, so I need to call the surgery for an appointment to talk to her.
£1.01 overpayment to the mortgage last night, but it looks like I'll have a bit left over at the end of the month to divide between the mortgage and savings. Since the last fix I've overpaid by £2,378.97 - not spectacular, but until the major expenditure is finished I need to keep a reasonable level of savings accessible. I have a feeling that this month is bonus month (I get quarterly bonuses, so June's should be appearing shortly) which will be nice. I've asked my cousin to come and do some bits and pieces. He's not free until the end of August/early Sept, but I know he will get on with stuff and not want to talk to me the whole time (he works from home for his main job, plus has done stuff for me before). Even if I get some bits done, there will still be plenty that needs doing, and realistically I need to outsource what I can. So this week's list needs to include organising the blind/curtain lady to come over before I go on holiday and get the sitting/dining room curtains and blinds sorted out, and then to come back when my mum is here to look at fabrics for my bedroom. If I can find a roofer to deal with the slipped slates and someone to paint the outside of the windows, even better. I'd really like to find a cleaner, but that seems to be a major challenge. And ideally I'd like to find one who will make beds and do ironing which the last one wouldn't!
All of that has to be fitted in around work, which needs to be the priority when it comes to the limited energy I have available.6 -
Greenbee, I know you're really unwell, and I can't believe how much work you managed! I don't do a tenth of that, I'm serious. Hope you sleep well tonight. And manage a nap tomorrow!

Thanks KC! I had a long bath and slept reasonably well - so have been up and opened the greenhouse, got the milk in, pulled up all the radishes worth bothering with, picked the courgette flowers, got the ricotta out of the freezer and set up my stuff for Pilates. Back in bed with coffee now for a quick check round the web and then I’m going to get dressed, wash the bathroom floor and get a bit of work done before I attempt Pilates. I’m also going to call the surgery today as the chest pains definitely aren’t going away. The sun is shining today, so I’d like to get a bit more tidying done in the garden, as well as moving some stuff back into the kitchen. The corner with 2 coats of paint looks great, and I think there’s enough left to do another coat on the other bit. I’m trying to do a little bit at a time.8

Yesterday I managed both Pilates and Yoga, and finished the mowing (we'll try to forget about the long grass that I need to scythe, then strim, then mow over the next few weeks). I also ate properly, saw the GP for a lung check and was booked in for an ECG. I did lots of watering, washed the bathroom floor and moved a few things back into the kitchen
Today was less productive as although I was out like a light last night, I woke up at about 3am and didn't get back to sleep. It got quite cold last night, and I'd left all the windows open, so that's probably why I woke up. I did, however, do Pilates (after having dealt with an edited document, marked it up and sent it back together with a clean copy) and then went for my ECG (which is apparently fine) after which I braved the coop so have more meat and cheese. I won't be going again though, as there is no distancing and hardly anyone was wearing a mask - the checkout girl was complaining about hers and everyone was agreeing that they're uncomfortable and they don't see the point. I do, when no one seems to know how far 2 metres it or to be able to follow a one way system. A certain amount of work has been done, a few more bits moved back into the kitchen, and the watering done. I didn't get all the work I wanted done though, nor did I do the deadheading, weeding and planting that I was hoping to make inroads into. I'll have to put them on tomorrow's list (and keep moving them until they're done!). I haven't done the last of the painting either - tomorrow it's either being done or cleared up as the stuff is in the way. I do feel a LOT better, in terms of mental as well as physical energy.
Oh - and I made stuffed courgette flowers for supper. They were a bit of a disappointment TBH (shouldn't have got with a US recipe with bacon in it really...) probably because defrosted ricotta loses its texture, but at least I did some actual proper cooking. I'm over run with lettuces, and some of the chard needs picking (and more needs sowing). I've sown more radishes but suspect they'll be ready while I'm on holiday. Only one of the watering systems is currently set up, so I need to try to sort some others out, and see whether I can recruit a child to do the watering while I'm away.
