Remembered some cashback I'd been trying to decide how to cash out, so that's done. And once my energy bill is calculated I should be able to request a bit back from that (although with less solar at the moment, it won't be quite so much). I might be brave and shove some stuff on FBMP at rock bottom pricing (although there's not much left to go as most went to the CS to get it out of the way).
It's raining here, and we've been for a soggy walk, so now I need to get on and get some stuff put away so I can move back into my bedroom and start getting the house straight again. I also want to sow beans and plant the rest of the onions and garlic, which means clearing a couple more beds.6 -
Clothes are put away (not entirely tidily) and the bed is made, so I'm now moved back in. Houseplants are watered. Cats are not happy about the weather. Stinky isn't happy that I don't like the weather enough to keep going out.

It was nice to be back in my own bedroom and bed. I'd forgotten how heavy the wool duvet is (and it might have been a mistake to put both parts of the duvet on), but there is a lot more room so the cats aren't shoving me out quite as easily.
Still lots of tidying and sorting to do. And the other bedroom needs the bed stripping and a thorough clean. I also need to sort out the last few lamps upstairs (two need rewiring, one needs mending, and then I think I need one more).
Very soggy walk this morning (and not was long as Stinky would have liked) but it was VERY wet. It looks as if it's brightening up now - and the laptop battery needs charging - so I may go out and do some work in the veg plot.4 -
It looked promising here but the ground is just saturated. At least Stinky will get to play in the garden rather than watching the rian out of the window like the last few days.My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

He's played in the garden while I weeded another bed (leaving in the chard, removing the last beetroot which hadn't done much), topped it up with (bagged) mulch, and planted the last of the garlic and red onions. Of course, now we're back inside - with some chard (which is having a good wash before being added to soup for lunch), and the last of the tomatoes (which will either ripen a bit more or go in soup) - the sun is shining again. In fact, I should probably shove some muddy dog towels in the WM.
Hopefully I'll get the logs shifted and the rest of the onions done this afternoon. And then look at my list.3 -
I'm working my way round my house, cleaning, stripping beds, watering plants too ....the outside plants though 🥶 too cold for me.Emergency Fund- £717.770

Getting out there was the hardest bit!
I've had lunch now, so need to go out and deal with the logs, then shift more potential kindling over to the log store where I can split it. Then either take the dog for another walk (he really should have one) or do the last of the onions. If I can get the beans in during the week then I can do the pots next weekend (I must get the box of bulbs off the porch and open it to check what's in there).
Most of the inside plants have been watered apart from the orchids, the ones in the bathroom, and the ones in my office (which really need more sorting out). I think as the house and garden improve I'll have less need for billions of house plants!4 -
Logs shifted, scrap wood put in the log store to dry out so it can be cut up for burning, apple twigs moved to log store to dry out for kindling. Another bed cleared and mulched, and one and a half rows of onions planted. Bed covered with chicken wire - I need to locate chard and cavalo nero seeds to fill the rest of the bed.
Bulbs collected from the porch - they need planting. I need to get some compost so that I can get the patio pots done either next weekend or if it's fine at all during the week.
Dog has had a second walk (not long enough according to him...). I could do with a shower, then lighting the fire and having a rest before feeding everyone, dozing on the sofa, having a bath, and going to bed in preparation for the week ahead.4 -
Dog walk earlier than (recently) normal. Lovely and sunny, but VERY cold. Called the septic tank guy when I got back and he will probably empty it today. Then had a shower and washed my hair and went off to pick up my blood test form. Car tyres decided they were cold (I'm ignoring the tyre pressure warning on the basis that it's the first cold day the car has been out) on the way there. Picked up the form (very efficient) then off to the supermarket for more stuff than planned, but mostly needed (sticky toffee flapjack bites are very nice
).
Home to bored doggy so put the fridge/freezer stuff away and threw a couple of balls before stopping for coffee.
Stinky dog towels and dog bag washed while I was out, so are now in the TD, and the DW is also on. I put the towel rail on my bathroom after my shower using electric heating seeing as the sun is shining. In fact, as it appears to be intending to shine for a bit longer, I might do some more laundry...5 -
