Proud of you with persisting getting trades in.      Let Stinky doing the supervision :) That will keep him amused (WattyDog ran off with a hammer last time he did any supervision so I cannot guarantee this is a fool proof plan)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Fatty does the supervision Watty! The electricians call her 'boss' as she sits on the doorstep glaring at them when they arrive, pokes her nose into everything they are doing, checks out their vans, and when they're in the attic she sits at the bottom of the step ladder and yells at them! The decorator spends a lot of time trying to make sure he doesn't paint her - but when I offer to shut her in the utility room they all object! I'm hoping that someone might take Stinky for a short walk or two while they are here (they all love him too).

Now everyone is booked there is no way I'm putting it off. I want to be done and get stuff back in my bedroom... although I'll have to wait for the paint to stop smelling before I move back in. And as soon as everything is back in there I'll need a date from the plumber to do the landing radiators and pipework ahead of that being decorated in November. After which I just have the difficult bit to do, which involves working out the layout at the back of the house.

@rtandon27 - I'll probably hide in the sitting room with the fire lit (and hot water bottles) in the mornings, and then in my office (if my brain cooperates) in the afternoon.

I've just brought the washing in, as it clearly isn't drying outside. The stuff that can go in the TD is in there - and I'm really appreciating the heatpump TD now, as there's minimal sunshine, but it's running off the solar and leaving enough to keep the battery and hot water topped up. When I've had a rest, I'll go and put the rest on the heated airer. Both of which should also warm the house up. It's got a bit cold today, and I'm reluctant to put the heating on because of the drying effect on my sore throat, but I might light the fire in a bit.

Talked to a GP friend who interrogated me about symptoms - I mentioned that the nerve pain started a day or so before the 'cold' symptoms and he said a number of his patients had flagged up nerve pain this time. TBH I can't remember whether I had it with my first bout (probably not, as I felt fine for the first week or so, just like a really bad cold, and I kept running until it got to my chest!), but it has been a consistent symptom of LC. I also told him that my HR monitoring has gone bananas, recording 'exertion' for things like lying in bed doing nothing - very much like round one. It may be that any infection exacerbates cardiac symptoms, but I'll keep an eye on it, as they took ages to resolve last time. Still, no elephant sitting on my chest so far, which is good, and all the gunk I'm coughing up is clear. So hopefully I'll have worked through the symptoms and cleared the infection by the end of the week as it's half term and we have a family holiday planned (local to here thankfully, as the decorator will be starting then!).

I would certainly agree on the HR monitoring going bananas.  I had almost 2 weeks when my resting HR was well over 10 up & one morning that I noticed I had done several minutes exercise whilst still asleep.  I am 2.5 weeks in & only last night did I start to feel normal.  Still very weak but not like something was wrong.  More like I hadn't had enough sleep (I had) & needed to eat for some energy.

I'm bored of it already @badmemory! And my voice has just vanished, which will make work interesting...

Electricians are here and getting on with stuff in the bedroom/ensuite/wardrobe. They've also got smoke alarms to do so I'll have to clear a few bits in the hall when I get some energy.

Need to bring some logs in as the basket is low, and there are none in the porch.

I've switched the boiler on, but not yet turned the heating on, as I'm a bit concerned about the pressure - the plumber said he'd repressurised the system but a quick look suggests the pressure is low. However, I can't see any sign of a leak!

Dog also needs walking/entertaining. And I need to have a look at work and see whether I can face it.

Dog walked, and luckily we met one of his friends so they raced around for a bit and exercised each other.

Still debating whether to try turning the heating on... I guess bleeding the radiators would be the first step towards working out whether it needs topping up. The plumber is on honeymoon this week, otherwise I'd ask him. If I can hold off until tomorrow, the builders who are coming to do the carpentry can probably help me work it out.

Blood test that was booked for tomorrow has been rescheduled to next week. Need to make some decisions about work... it's not as if I can have a duvet day with the electricians here, but I'm also aware that my brain isn't fully functioning.

Sorry greenbee but I need to do some solar brainpicking again.  Have you seen the oucome of last weeks free hours.  Mine seem right for the 5th but not for the 4th.  Probably just me misunderstanding something.

I haven't looked properly - but I think I got 1p and 2p. I'm not sure how much I actually ended up using then as I think there was a reasonable amount of solar. And as it was negative for agile all weekend, I used a lot at other times of day.

I've topped up the heating and bled the radiators again. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes the pressure to drop again - there are auto vents in the attic so air may be escaping that way. But at least I now know there IS water in the system!

Also brought the robot hoover downstairs and am running it in the sitting room as there's more dog hair and dust in there than I'd like. I may work my way round some other rooms if I can clear floor space.

My solar hasn't been doing great for a couple of weeks so I filled the battery from the grid - so the 5th was £2.40 which I expected but the 4th I expected over double that but only got £2.70.  Recently I have been topping up my solar a bit before 4pm when the price goes up so I guess that is saving me about 15p a day.  It's all good clean fun & makes my brain work & keeps me out of mischief.
