Two hours is enough to fill my battery completely, so if your battery wasn't completely drained on the 4th maybe that's all it had room for.

I thought I had used 11.5 kWh but that isn't what they paid & I wondered if I had misunderstood somewhere.  It will only charge at 4 per hour from the grid but the shower used nearly 4 too.  I will figure it out I will have misread something.

Remembered that I need to clear out the hall as they're going to be chasing into the walls tomorrow. Obviously it won't just be the hall that is covered in dust as a result - it'll be the whole house. But that should be the last lot of it until the back of the house is started.

The landing plumbing will probably be fairly messy, but that will be done, and the redecorating done, by the end of November, so I'll have the rest of the winter to get rid of the dust.

Forgot to top up the battery overnight (again!) so woke up to find it almost empty (I do need to work out how i'm managing to use 10kWh overnight). There's just about enough generation at the moment to supply what the electricians and builders are using, so I've found a couple of slots that aren't too bad and hopefully that will see me through until I can charge up tonight. Although I'm really going to need to hoover (and mop, and hoover, and mop) in the hall as the dust that the electricians are creating is going to take some shifting).

The noise is driving me nuts. I'm just hoping I can move the stuff out of my office and back into the hall in time for this afternoon's meetings.

10kWh overnight does seem like a lot.  Even we only get through 5 at most from 9 to 9.

I stopped generating around 5.30pm last night, but it does look like the baseload was quite high.

The only thing I can think of is the ice maker, so that's been turned off. I did make quite a lot of hot waterbottles too :)

But every full kettle only needs about 200w to boil, can you tell I have thought about this before as I do like a hot water bottle.

I've just checked, and last night I had a consistent baseload of 400-500 watts, while the previous night was around 200. I'll have to go round tonight and check nothing has been left on that shouldn't have been.

I have hoovered and wiped and mopped up a phenomenal amount of dust. There are some holes that were made in the ceiling that haven't been filled (the disks are there, but they didn't put them in - they also left the ceiling spots and various bits behind, and usually take them all away), and there's one double socket that hasn't been changed from aluminium to white. They need to come back to put on a blanking plate, so I'll ask for that to be done at the same time. They also completely failed to check with me when they could turn off some sockets and so did things in the wrong order... and then tripped the sockets, multiple times which killed my port replicator thankfully I have three desks, so could swap one and work will send a replacement) and more worryingly, the hub for the security cameras doesn't seem to have recovered it's network connection.

The kitchen door appears to have been fixed - I'm not entirely sure what they did, but they seem to have made some parts (I wasn't thrilled about all the tiny bits of metal on the patio etc, but have swept them up). If it's solved the problem, it's saved replacing the door.

My mum brought some chicken soup over earlier, which was lovely.

I'm now shattered after trying to work, and doing the clearing up. I need to remember to charge the battery overnight and tomorrow I think I'll turn the boiler on.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the overnight electricity use must have been down to something the electricians left on, as it was back to normal last night.

I’ve given in and turned some of the heating on as it’s got so cold in here with everyone opening all the doors and windows. Just the UFH at the back of the house, but it should help. DW is also on which should help clear the mess in the kitchen, and Stinky has gone to daycare.
